Baragon is one of the three titular kaiju protagonists (alongside King Ghidorah and Baragon) of the 2001 film Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All out attack.
In the past, he was slain by anicient Japanese warriors and laid to rest. Alongside Mothra and King Ghidorah, the warriors prayed for and purified his soul so that one day they would come to protect Japan. Thousands of years later, he would be awakened by a prophet named Hirotoshi Isayama so that he could protect Japan from Godzilla.
He is suit performed by Rie Ota and Toshinori Sasaki
His Good Ranking[]
What Makes Him Admirable[]
- Freed the prophet who awakened him from a jail cell, allowing him to later awaken King Ghidorah
- As a spirit, he went inside Godzilla’s body and dragged him underwater, allowing Taizo Tachibana to sail the Satsuma and fire a D-03 Missile inside Godzilla and open a gaping wound on his neck, culminating in Godzilla destroying himself when he fired his atomic breath.
What Makes Him Inconsistent[]
- While he was willing to work with the humans and at certain points went out of their way to protect them, it’s stated that his main goal/priority was protecting Japan itself (as in the land and the environment) from getting destroyed by Godzilla rather than the people living there
- During Baragon’s introduction, he accidentally kills a bunch of motorcyclist and later nearly killed 2 people while they were ski fleeing by walking in front of them.
Trivia[]
- This is the only incarnation of Baragon to be Inconsistently Admirable.
