The Prime Shimmer is the leader of the Light Shimmers and a supporting character of Inanimate Insanity II. They made their debut in "Hatching the Plan". They are voiced by Brandon Shim.
Appearance[]
The Prime Shimmer is a large purple egg with dark purple and white stripes. In the center of their shell is a large jagged hole in the shape of three diamonds. Inside the hole are seven balls of light that act as The Prime Shimmer's eyes, which can shapeshift into different forms. There are two small holes on either side of the shell with two glowing balls of light that act as their arms. Above their head is a large glowing crown.
Personality[]
The Prime Shimmer is a forthright leader who is respected by the Light Shimmers. While they do not appear hostile, they are very protective of their youth. they also appear to have a bit of a sense of humor.
Powers[]
The Prime Shimmer can manipulate the light in their eyes and hands, making videos, flashbacks, and items.
In Objects in Mirror, the wound inflicted to the Prime Shimmer by Steve Cobs's knife disappears after some time passes between scenes, hinting at some potential regeneration abilities.

"Hatching the Plan"[]
In "Hatching the Plan", The Prime Shimmer forms, introduces themselves, and demands to know who Fan is and how he found the egg. They reveal that the egg was stolen, and goes on to question Fan's right to assume responsibility over the egg. After Test Tube suddenly crashes through the floor in The Flying Buddy, the Prime Shimmer begins to reintroduce themself before Fan cuts them off. Later, The Prime Shimmer denounces Meeple as "the oppressor" and tells a story about how Meeple destroyed their planet and stole their youths after they refused to allow them to harness their light. The Light Shimmers managed to defeat and recover the eggs stolen by all but one MePhone, who had stolen two eggs. Later, The Prime Shimmer thanks Fan and Test Tube but is interrupted by an attack from Taco, causing them to panic and order the ship to take off into space.
"Through No Choice of Your Own"[]
It was a brief moment when the Prime Shimmer was asking the operator of the Light Shimmer spaceship if their fellow extraterrestrial-kind were heard bellow through their screaming, and the operator of the spaceship confirms indeed that from one of their fellow youth's companions (Fan and Test Tube) found the one they needed. Which makes them feel joyous to reunite as they expect, along with The Baby Shimmer also excited to see their extraterrestrial relative.
“Objects in Mirror”[]
Continuing from the previous episode, the Shimmers come down in their ship, with The Prime Shimmer excited to see their other child. After conversing with Steve Cobs about their baby, MePhone tells the Shimmers to run. Caught off guard, The Prime Shimmer is stabbed by Steve Cobs, injuring them, but before any other real damage is done, their eyes come out and burn Cobs' arm, letting the Shimmers escape. After Cobs is defeated, Box returns what is left of the other Shimmer to the Prime Shimmer, who crowns Box a hero. As the (now former) contestants are meeting up again after Cobs is defeated, The Shimmers leave a mysterious machine for them, with The Prime Shimmer insisting that "they're gonna need it."
