Taco, labeled The Liar (formerly The Randomly Insane One) is a female contestant on Inanimate Insanity.

Taco's nonsensical behavior and tendencies made her well-liked by the viewers. This, plus her winning multiple immunities on Team Chickenleg and in the merge helped her make it to the finals. When she lost in the final challenge to OJ, she revealed her more sinister and manipulative side, fleeing after attempting to steal the cash prize.

Though not as a competitor, Taco returned as an antagonist in Inanimate Insanity II. She committed a few schemes in hiding, most notably working with Microphone to split the cash prize until pushing her too far.

She is voiced by Rheagan Rizio.

Appearance[]

Taco is a round, tan, hard-shelled taco filled with tomatoes, lettuce and refried beans. She also has a pair of arms in her shell that she can hide at any time.

From "Mine Your Own Business" to "Truth or Flare", her shell was dented after she was hit by a gemory. Her shell was fixed after dying and being recovered by MePhone4.

Personality[]

At the start of the series, Taco was known for her silly, goofy, weird, wild and dumb personality, most notably for shouting random words like "SOUR CREAM!" and "SPRINKLES!", as well as spitting lemons, unfortunately she lost this ability causing her to lament over it for a short period of time. Taco usually appeared completely oblivious to all conflicts and remained motionless with a sideways smile on her face. Overall, Taco is a peculiar character, as she has a self-proclaimed IQ of 7, listed as having mental problems for unknown reasons by Dictionary, and has been said to speak only French and know a few bits of proper dialect, though this was eventually proven false later on in the show.

Despite her bizarre character, Taco illustrates that she is a fierce and antagonistic competitor throughout many episodes, such as in "A Lemony Lesson", where she instantly wins for her team by spitting up dozens of lemons, and in "Inanimate Smackdown", where she dominates the wrestling challenge. Taco reveals over time many abilities that were previously unknown, such as in "Aquatic Conflict", she casually declares that she has arms, unbeknownst to her friends, such as Pickle. She also would occasionally shift into moments of impressive intelligence, such as in "Crappy Anniversary", where she analyzes her percentage of landing in the water, but immediately changes back to her old form after landing in the feces.

This slow shift in Taco's character eventually leads to the grand reveal in "Journey Through Memory Lane (Part 2)", where Taco loses the competition and unravels her true identity in a fit of anger when OJ wins. Taco reveals that she merely played a role and created her stupid persona as part of a plan to gain love from the viewers and not be seen as a threat, resulting in what should have been her win (as she proclaims).

Taco's true identity is vastly different from her outrageous and moronic persona. She is rather intelligent, deceitful, tactful, sensitive and mischievous, with a hankering for evil. Although her plan to steal the million-dollar prize in Inanimate Insanity was thwarted, she continued to pursue the same prize once again in Inanimate Insanity II until Truth or Flare, since she stopped caring about getting the prize.

Initially hiding in the bushes for the first half of the season, Taco remains as a spectator to the competition in order to find an accomplice. Taco eventually narrows her choice on Microphone, a competitor who struggles to succeed in challenges and feels overlooked despite her efforts. After Taco begins tormenting Microphone in "Rain On Your Charade" by reading through her personal diary, she opens up to Microphone to convince her to join sides with her in order to split the million-dollar prize 50/50 in exchange for help and advice throughout the rest of the competition. Microphone refused but eventually agrees and they form a sort of alliance.

From here, Taco further exhibits her true personality. She has little regard for genuine morals in order to advance in the competition, such as in "Kick the Bucket" where she instructs Microphone to paralyze Balloon with the intent to hinder his ability in the challenge and mentions how she enjoys messing with others. She also displays having a high value in her strategies and efforts, arguing with Microphone whilst she hesitates to use the paralyzer to attack someone. However, she admits Microphone some respect when she was able to manipulate Balloon into giving in to anxiety, making him fail within the rules of the game. She views Balloon and Suitcase's conflicts as petty and "adorable."

Taco gradually grows more respect for Microphone, begrudgingly letting her return the temporary paralyzer to Test Tube in Alternate Reality Show despite seeing no benefit in it. Still, she has a low opinion of the other competitors, such as her showing little concern for Test Tube and Lightbulb getting lost through time, or her description of Knife as a "simple bully." Yet, when she saw the time portal, she's shown that she secretly wants a second chance at friendship.

Taco shows particular resentment towards Knife in Mine Your Own Business, viewing his past and present 'savagery' as brutish and unexcusable despite her own actions. Though she initially plots to get Knife killed, Microphone stops her, and she offers to apologize, stating she could stand to be a bit more open. Despite her becoming more casual and less belittling around Microphone, she is still secretive and stealthy, as seen not only by her and Microphone's use of the InvisiBows throughout the episode to operate unseen, but also by her avoidance in telling Microphone about her past.

In Truth or Flare, it confirmed that Taco had a plan with MePad, hinted at the previous episode. In this same episode, she is shown to have a sensitive side, as tears welled up in her eyes when she realizes that it's time for her to face her own truth, which causes her to literally fall apart, killing her. At the end of the episode, following MePad's advice, Taco decides that she's done hiding away from society, and prepares to start over.

In The Reality of the Situation, Taco is shown to still be nervous and hiding for a bit, but finally does get the courage to talk to Pickle again. Here, Taco confesses that she didn't intend to have Pickle on her plan, but ran along with it, revealing that she truly did value her friendship with Pickle. She is shown to be heavily offended at being called stupid, though this quickly shifts to a tearful mourning when Pickle gets deleted by MePhoneX.

In "Through No Choice of Your Own", Taco is seen staring at Pickle's dead body before Microphone enters the room and causes her to shift her focus to Microphone instead. Microphone then starts a conversation with Taco saying that she heard about what Taco had done in "Truth or Flare". The two of them continue to talk with each other for a while. Soon, Taco faces the other contestants with an awkward smile on her face.

Taco is known for her unique powers, such as:

• Retractable Arms In the episode 'Aquatic Conflict', Taco revealed that she has retractable arms. She can withdraw her arms at any time and appear as an armless contestant.
• Lemon Spitting: From "A Lemony Lesson" till "The Great Escape", Taco is able to spit lemons as projectiles. She later uses this ability to spit candy at OJ in "Journey Through Memory Lane/Part 2".

• Taco has hosted her own Taco Show where she has interviewed OJ and answered questions from the viewers.
  • The Show lasted for only 2 episodes, "The Juicy Interview" and "4,000 Subscribers".
• Taco's trademark line "SOUR CREAM!" is said in almost every episode of Season 1.
• Taco has barfed lemons in "A Lemony Lesson", "The Arena of Death", "4Seeing The Future", "Crappy Anniversary" and "Inanimate Smackdown". She lost this ability in "The Great Escape" but shot one last lemon in "Journey Through Memory Lane (Part 2)".
• Taco has been called "useless", when she has actually won challenges in episodes "A Lemony Lesson", "The Arena of Death", "One-Shot Wonder", "4Seeing The Future", "Inanimate Smackdown" and "The Great Escape" (not including when Team Chicken Leg won without her help).
• Taco is one of few characters that speaks with an accent that differs from the majority of contestants, the others being The Floor, Suitcase, Silver Spoon, Tea Kettle and Yin-Yang.
• Taco was originally the smallest character but became the second smallest once Bow joined.

• She is the highest-ranking female competitor in the first season. Cabby and Suitcase are both considered lower or higher since they were previously eliminated in their respective seasons, other than that they both progress really good until the end of their respective seasons.
• In The Taco Show, she states that her number one wish and dream was to be “some sort of underwater sea animal that lives on land with waterproof fur”. However, this may no longer be canon after The Taco Show’s deletion.
• Taco is the only female in "The Stupid Trailer."
• Taco and Balloon are tied for being the most hated character on the show by the contestants, having no allies and only making enemies out of everyone.
  • This is because of her revelation in the finale of her evil plan.
  • One of the few people that most likely doesn't hate her is Silver Spoon. He referred to her as an 'icon' once Cabby described her.
    • However, Balloon made friends in Inanimate Insanity II, and Taco made one friend as well, Microphone.
    • On the contrary, Balloon and Taco are enemies with each other.
• In "The Tile Divide", Taco became the last female contestant after Bow's elimination.
• Taco is one of the few two original contestants to have never gone to Idiotic Island. The other one is OJ.
  • Coincidentally, both of the aforementioned interactions happened in the second season of their respective shows.
• Taco, along with Salt, has the second most voice actor changes throughout the whole series, with 4, behind Pepper, with 5.
• Not counting her loss in "Journey Through Memory Lane (Part 2)" as an elimination, Taco is so far, the only season one contestant who hasn't been eliminated.
• In "Mine Your Own Business", Taco’s shell has broken by a gemory. The crack in her shell remains throughout the entirety of the episode and "Hatching the Plan" and also appears in official merchandise, therefore making it the first temporary change to appear in merch (it also appears in the current banner).
• Taco has gone the longest with a temporary character design change out of any character, her shell was broken upon hitting a gemory in "Mine Your Own Business", which was six years ago, and had this until 2024's "Truth or Flare".
• Taco received enough votes to compete in Inanimate Insanity Invitational, however, was excluded from consideration along with Lightbulb, Knife and Suitcase due to their ties to the story of Inanimate Insanity II.
• Taco is the only non-returning contestant to not appear in Inanimate Comics.
• Taco's original appearance and ability is similar to Rocky from BFDI.
• Taco and Silver Spoon are the only contestants to never be eliminated. Taco had only been beaten by OJ while Silver Spoon had never been eliminated.
  • Taco and Silver are also one of the few contestants to have never been voted off, along with Suitcase, Dough and Microphone.
• A different taco was a potential debuter for Battle for Dream Island and BFDIA, and was a contestant for both pre-split and post-split BFB.
• Taco could possibly know a lot about technology, as she managed to alter MePad in order to manipulate his abilities in ''Hatching the Plan''.
• She was described as deceitful and British by Cabby in "A Jury For Your Fears".
• She was always meant to be "manipulative" and "british" and didn't suddenly change as shown in one of MePhone4's sketches/concept of her.
• It has been proved that Taco has sent multiple letters to Pickle in hopes be forgiven, this shows in Episode 1 of Season 2 “Breaking The Ice”, Episode 16 of Season 2 “The Reality of the Situation”, and a subtle hint of it in a Cakebrunch comic “Letters”.
• Taco has attempted to go back to Season 1 in attempt to be friends with Pickle again, as shown in “Alternate Reality Show” but failed to enter the portal in time.
  • More proof of this; while she was reaching for the portal she said “A second chance, perhaps?” before it had disappeared.
• It is confirmed she has been deleted by Steve cobs in the Q&A with the answer to his opinion on her being "I do have to agree that she made the game more interesting, but why I should care for someone that doesn't exist anymore?"
• In the Inanimate Insanity Invitational Q&A, it is said Taco is the most likely character out of the cast to tap dance.
