Liam Neeson OBE (lahir 7 Juni 1952) adalah seorang aktor dari Irlandia Utara.[1] Dia telah menerima beberapa penghargaan sepanjang karirnya, termasuk nominasi untuk an Academy Award, British Academy Film Award, dua Tony Awards, dan tiga Golden Globe Awards. Pada tahun 2020, ia ditempatkan di posisi ke-7 pada The Irish Times daftar 50 Aktor Film Terhebat Irlandia.[2]
Pada tahun 1976, Neeson bergabung dengan Lyric Players' Theatre di Belfast selama dua tahun. Dia kemudian bertindak di Arthurian film Excalibur (1981). Penghargaan dan kehormatan
[sunting | sunting sumber]Artikel utama: Daftar penghargaan dan nominasi yang diterima oleh Liam Neeson Pada tahun 2000, Neeson ditawari "Freedom of the Town of Ballymena" oleh Ballymena Borough Council, Dewan Borough, tetapi karena keberatan yang dibuat oleh anggota Democratic Unionist Party mengenai komentarnya bahwa dia merasa seperti "warga negara kelas dua" tumbuh sebagai seorang Katolik di kota itu, ia menolak penghargaan tersebut, dengan alasan ketegangan.[8] Menyusul kontroversi tersebut, Neeson menulis surat kepada dewan, menyatakan; "Saya akan selalu sangat bangga dengan pendidikan saya, dan pergaulan dengan, kota dan negara kelahiran saya, yang akan terus saya promosikan di setiap kesempatan.
