A Gibbaeum a szegfűvirágúak (Caryophyllales) rendjébe, ezen belül a kristályvirágfélék (Aizoaceae) családjába tartozó nemzetség.

A Gibbaeum-fajok természetes körülmények között kizárólag a Dél-afrikai Köztársaságban fordulnak elő.
