Roxy Cassidy

Roxy Cassidy is a detective sergeant operating from Dee Valley Police Station. She was colleagues with both Ryan Knight and D.S. Geoff Thorpe.

She made her first appearance in November 2016, under the name of "Roxanne Kelly". Her character name was later changed to avoid confusion with the character of Kyle Kelly.

During her first appearance, she was working undercover as a police officer in an attempt to bait Warren Fox.

She returned in August 2017, where she started to investigate various cases around Hollyoaks, including when Luke Morgan broke into Mark Gibbs's house.

In January 2018, Roxy was reintroduced in a storyline involving drug lord Glenn Donovan. Determined to bring him to justice, Roxy employed Glenn's son Adam Donovan to become a secret mole for the police. Although Adam had his doubts, Roxy and Adam grew increasingly close in the months that followed. While working undercover, Adam actually started to become more and more like his villainous father. This eventually reached the point where Adam slept with Roxy in order to blackmail her to leave Glenn alone. In an attempt to retrieve the video footage of her and Adam's liaison, Roxy broke into the Donovan home, although she was caught in the act by Glenn himself. Glenn blackmailed Roxy into leaving him alone in exchange for keeping quiet about her break in. Although Roxy complied with Glenn's demands, Adam was later shot dead by Glenn after he discovered that Adam was the mole.

After Adam's death, Roxy became more determined than ever to bring down Glenn. Adam's wife Maxine Minniver discovered that Roxy slept with Adam, and confronted her about it. Maxine trashed The Loft so that the police would arrest her, thus giving her the chance to confront Roxy about their illicit affair. In the interview room, Roxy shared her side of the story, and told Maxine about how she was blackmailed by Adam. Roxy also assured Maxine that Adam never stopped loving both her and her daughter Minnie.

Later that month, Roxy was informed that Ryan Knight was the real murderer of Amy Barnes. After pursuing him around the village, she eventually managed to capture him. Although she placed him under arrest, she allowed Farrah Maalik to get close to him so that they could discover where the whereabouts of Kim Butterfield's supposed corpse. When Ryan took Farrah to a deserted woodland, he discovered that she was wearing a wire. Knowing that Ryan could kill Farrah, Roxy tried to get to the scene as soon as possible. Ryan was eventually killed during a struggle with Harry Thompson.

Although she has not interacted with him in a while, it is clear that Roxy is still working to try and bring down Glenn.

After the death of Thorpe, Ryan and D.S. Armstrong, Roxy is the only major police officer remaining at Dee Valley Police Station.
