Lee Hunter is the son of Sally and Les Hunter, and the brother of Dan, Ellie and Lisa Hunter.
Biography[]
1985-2001: Backstory[]
Lee was born in October 1985 to parents Les and Sally Hunter joining his older brothers and sister Ellie and Dan and a year later joined by his younger sister Lisa. In 1999, Lee's older sister, Ellie ran away from home which caused his family some heartache.
2001-2004: Arrival and Relationship with Abby Davies[]
Lee is first seen in May 2001 to which his brought home by the police but swears it's all a misunderstanding to his family. Lee would then often act up in school and his trouble behaviour worsens when his best friend Bombhead arrives. After failing his exams Lee starts to feel sorry for himself and this leads him to feel depressed and even more so when its revealed that his oldest sister Ellie had in fact ran away from home two years prior in Ibiza. Lee caused trouble in the village when his caught grafting by Tony Hutchinson to who lee begins to briefly work for but is sacked by Tony when he discovers Lee's petty money scams. Lee shows his supportive side when his younger sister, Lisa was seen to be self harming die to being bullied by Steph Dean, Lee is also shocked when Ellie turns up by March 2002. During his arrival too Lee makes a number of friends with the likes of Theo and Norman Sankofa, Brian Drake, Cameron Clark and Darren Osborne.
Lee is then seen taken a huge liking to Lisa's friend, Abby Davies and ends up developing a huge crush on Abby eventually Lee and Abby grow close with each other which leads them to begin a relationship with one another but they are faced with a number of issues such as Lee sleeping with Zara Morgan and Abby having a brief relationship with Craig Dean, Lee and Abby's relationship would come to an end after a few years when Abby decides to move to Brighton despite Lee wanting to propose to her. During Lee's early years sees him being left shocked that Ellie's husband Toby Mills is a Serial Killer and having to put up with his father, Les and mother, Sally marriage issues during to Les' alcoholism and losing his brother, Dan in a car accident in December 2004.
2004-2005: Relationships with Stacey and Zara[]
Not long after Abby departs and not long before Dan's death. Lee has a brief fling with Stacey Foxx and dates her a number of times despite not feeling fully committed to her however Lee's relationship with Stacey is tested when she begins to stay with him and clash with all his siblings and parents as well as friends and eventually by July 2005, Lee ends his relationship with Stacey as she departs the village. After Stacey's depart, Lee decides to run for student president and goes up against Zara for the role to which he begins to have a petty feud with after a week of battling with Zara, Lee is eventually crowned as the student president to Zara's annoyance, however Lee starts to drift away from his friendship with Bombhead as he makes friends with new student Jeremy Peterson.
Lee waves good bye to his mother and father as well as Lisa by September 2005 and has a brief petty feud with the Ashworth family over the home he had stayed in with his family. When Lee is being set up by Chris Fenwick and Freddy Watson for a fire that broke out at the media lab however Zara tells Lee of Chris' plan to overtake Lee as student president this leads Lee to punch Chris as well as Chris to be expelled. Lee grows closer with Zara and soon begins a relationship with her and the two eventually depart together by December 2005 in order to move too Thailand. Lee did make friends with Bombhead before Bombhead's departure a few weeks before hand.
2010-2011: Return, Relationships with Leanne and Amy & Departure[]
Lee returns in August 2010 and is seen to now be in a relationship with Leanne Holiday and he plans to propose to Leanne but feels like she's ungrateful when he takes her to a hotel room to which Leanne does not like however Lee would discover that Leanne had kissed drug dealer Doug Carter after being told by Kevin Smith however Lee comes around to forgive Leanne, Lee would then enrol himself back into his old college,Hollyoaks Community College when he finds out that old friend Darren has also enrolled to which Lee discovers that Steph is actually dying of cervical cancer much to his shock and this leads Lee to try and avoid Steph the best he can however he eventually comes face to face with Steph and the two chat and reminisce, Lee is devastated when Steph dies in November 2010 during Il Gnosh Explosion.
Lee begins to grow close with Amy Barnes and Lee would opt to be with Amy over Leanne due to Leanne's lies that where exposed of Lee's and Leanne's supposer wedding day in February 2011. Lee then begins his relationship with Amy however Leanne would often scheme in order to win Lee back which would cause problems between Lee and Amy. When Lee eventually gets a dream job offer to move to New York by October 2011 and Lee and Amy begin their plans to move to America however, Ste Hay whom is the father of Amy's children Leah Barnes and Lucas Hay attempts to stop them eventually Lee and Amy would break up and Lee would then depart the village in a bid to move to New York by himself.

Background Information[]
- Actor Alex Carter originally auditioned for the role of Dan Hunter, but was rejected shortly after. He was later called back aand asked to play Lee. He had also previously auditioned for Darren Osborne in 1999.
- Lee Otway, who would later play Bombhead, initially auditioned for the role of Lee.
- In June 2005, it was announced that Carter had quit the serial and would be leaving at the end of his contract.
- Speaking of his decision to quit in 2006, Carter said, "It'd been five years, and it was long hours - I was working weekends and things - and realistically I'd had five years out of my life, I just wanted my weekends back. I wanted a bit of a life as well as work."
- It was announced on 15th March 2010, that Marquess had decided to reintroduce Lee to the serial as part of his revamp, Carter signed an initial six-month contract with the soap after announcing his decision to leave his role as Jamie Hope in rival soap opera Emmerdale, Carter started filming Lee's return in July of that year and returned on screen in September of that year.
- In May 2011, it was announced that Carter had decided to leave the serial in order to pursue other projects. Speaking of his departure, Carter stated: "After ten years in soap, it feels like the right time to find out what else is out there."
