Episode 338 (16th August 1999)

Synopsis[]

Lewis and Ruth are enjoying being back together and spending a lot of time in bed. Lewis suggests that Ruth could move in with him, but she is adamant that she is going to get her flat back and live there. Ruth tries to talk to Mr. Osborne about the flat but he tells Ruth that she did say that Kate could have it for a year and they are just going to have to share.

Later, Ruth announces to a livid Kate that they are going to be flatmates. Ruth moves Kate's things out of her bedroom and a furious Kate changes them back. When Kate is out Ruth once again swaps the bedrooms around and this time puts a padlock on the bedroom door so Kate can't get in. It is clear that the flat war has begun.

Sean is tired after his night DJing, and to make matters worse he is left to look after Holly again. Cindy gives Sean £20 to buy some food and Mrs. Cunningham warns him not to spend it on things they don't need. Mrs. C explains that things are going to be tough because she now has to pay the mortgage. Cindy has a word with Mrs C and tells her that she could manage a bit extra towards the bills and do night school so she can work more during the day. Cindy says that Sean will help as well when he has more work, but it is clear that Mrs C is dubious about Sean getting any work.
