Dillon Ray is the nephew of Misbah Maalik.
Biography[]
2023-: Arrival[]
Dillon arrived the doorstep of 67 Christleton Terrace in April 2023, telling his aunt Misbah Maalik that he had been kicked out of home after being expelled from school for fighting. Misbah confronted Dillon's mother Aisha, who was stunned to discover that her son was pansexual and took the news badly. With a bit of convincing from Misbah's son Imran, Misbah reluctantly allowed Dillon to stay with the family, sending Aisha away in disgust. Dillon enrolled at Hollyoaks High School and befriended Charlie Dean and Shing Lin Leong. The trio formed a band, which mostly dissolved when Charlie cheated with Ella Richardson. He also befriended Lucas Hay, attracting the (unwanted) affections of his sister Leah Barnes.
Dillon and Lucas grew closer, but Lucas began having personal problems and repeatedly pushed Dillon away. Dillon grew fed up and began hanging out with new friend Andre Clark, who moved in with Dillon after being evicted by his aunt. After Dillon coldly rejected Leah on New Year's Eve, Leah began taking an interest in Andre. Lucas accused Dillon of having feelings for Andre, which Dillon denied.
Dillon admitted to Lucas that he loved him, leading to Lucas punching him out of anger and due to months of cruel conversion therapy by Carter Shepherd. Lucas then self harmed as he thinks he killed Dillon. Dillon wakes up and tells Ste that Lucas needs help before fainting. The two are taken to hospital as Ste rings the ambulance. After this Dillon feels guilty about admitting his feelings to Lucas at a time where he so clearly couldn't accept himself and was being brainwashed by Carter. Lucas comes out to his dad at the hospital and then he visits Dillon and comes out to him.
Shortly after this incident, Lucas decides to come back to school to sit his exams but gets triggered by a question on his RS paper about sin and Dillon comforts him as he locks himself in a room. Dillon helps him out by putting on chill music to help Lucas feel better and gives him a heart to heart. This then leads to them sharing their first kiss.
The Time Jump: Infidelity[]
When Lucas was imprisoned at Dee Valley Young Offenders Institution for assaulting JJ Osborne, a lonely Dillon had a one night stand with Leah Barnes, resulting in her pregnancy. Leah's family were under the impression that Charlie Dean may have been the father, but Frankie Osborne quickly realised this was not the case upon seeing Dillon holding baby James in his arms. When confronted about his infidelity, Dillon was desperate to keep Frankie quiet, but she intended to tell Lucas the truth, so Dillon broke up with Lucas, claiming he had moved on. Frankie was surprised at Dillon's actions but ultimately agreed to keep the secret to herself.
