Synopsis for "Touched"
Phoenix finds Cyclops in a Times Square movie theater and tries to talk about his recent battle with his brother Havok, but he refuses. In the Xavier Institute hangar, Hercules roughhouses with Bishop and learns from Beast how his fellow Avengers died battling Onslaught. Beast confirms Quicksilver is staying at the Institute, and Hercules decides to go find him. Outside, Wolverine encourages Quicksilver to get on with his life for the sake of his young daughter. Quicksilver runs off and finds Joseph in Xavier’s psionically shielded chamber studying Rogue’s powers. When Quicksilver brings up the lives Magneto ruined, Joseph snaps at him before realizing his life was one of them. Back in Times Square, Cyclops tells Phoenix that he loved going to movies as a kid and how Professor X showed him his place in the world. At Graydon Creed’s campaign headquarters in Atlanta, Iceman learns his father refused to identify himself after heckling Creed on TV. Meanwhile, Cannonball sees Creed talking to someone out of view. Afterward, Creed claims he was talking with his parents and goes out to give a speech. Back at the Institute, Quicksilver is about to leave with Hercules when Joseph apologizes to him. Once they take off in Hercules’s Quinjet, Hercules suggests Quicksilver let go of his grudges. In Times Square, Cyclops feels silly for going to a movie given his responsibilities, but Phoenix points out that Professor X did not take time to enjoy life. After the couple exit the theater, Cyclops tells her he has something Xavier did not: their relationship.
