Synopsis for "Basics!"
Recently, Wolverine stalked and killed a wild boar near the X-Men’s Australian Outback base. Afterward, he felt ashamed and recalled how Lord Shingen called him an animal in front of Mariko. Storm found Logan and assured him the X-Men accept him for who he is. To blow off some steam, he had Gateway teleport him to Madripoor. Now, as Patch, he defeats Roughouse in a brawl at the Princess Bar. Tyger Tiger bet on him and wins the bar back from General Coy. As Logan celebrates with Tyger, Coy sells Roughouse to cyborg Nikolaus Geist. At the Royal Palace, Chief Tai briefs Prince Baran on the seizure of a cocaine shipment belonging to Coy, and Baran orders Tai to return it to its point of origin. After Tai leaves, Geist appears and, as Coy’s partner in crime, pays off Baran. The next morning, Logan is standing on his balcony when he smells cocaine. He tracks the scent to the docks and watches Geist have a bound and blindfolded Roughouse loaded onto a boat. Later aboard his ship, Geist tells the captive Roughouse how boxer Hammer Cody went on a violent rampage in New York’s Hell’s Kitchen while high on Geist’s cocaine. Daredevil and the police chased Cody down only for the boxer to keel over dead. Cody’s body vanished shortly thereafter. Revealing his cybernetic body, Geist informs Roughouse he is a slave and will serve as a test subject for Geist’s experiments. Geist then replaces his hand with a razor and tells Roughouse some adjustments must be made first. Outside, Wolverine climbs the ship’s anchor chain and hears Roughouse scream.
