Synopsis for "The Magic Herb"

A couple go to Africa in order to find a medical herb. They tell Tarzan that they're siblings and one of them is dying of a rare disease, which the herb may help cure. Tarzan agrees to be their guide through the dangerous jungle. When they stumble upon some "strange mushrooms," a tribe of scaly lizard-men confronts them. The woman lies to the lizard-men, telling them that Tarzan has kidnapped them and he wants to steal the tribe's food source (the mushrooms). Tarzan tries to defend himself, but the tribe take him, and the couple, to "the steaming lake." At the lake, a giant sea dragon emerges and is quickly slayed by Tarzan. Afterwards, the woman confesses to Tarzan that she and her companion are not siblings, but are to be married. Her fiance is really a pharmaceutical scientist and they wanted to steal the herb and sell it to the government. The lizard-men approach Tarzan and praise his courage. They let the three live and bestow upon them a bushel of the strange mushrooms. The three leave the tribe and climb up a cliff. As they climb, the woman lashes out towards Tarzan and he falls a few feet below. The two lovers then eat the mushrooms and become giddy. When Tarzan climbs to the top again, he notices that the couple have turned into lizard-creatures who are now racing back below in order to join their new tribe.
