Star-Spangled War Stories Vol 1 104

Prior to the war, the biggest challenge the Flying Franks ever had to face was convincing circus owner Zig-Zag Zack that they were worthy of performing at his circus. No matter what the trio of brothers did in a performance Zig-Zag Zack would be far from impressed with the display. Being able to impress Zack has become something that still hangs on the minds of the Flying Boots even in the middle of the war.

Out on a mission to investigate the disappearance of troops dropped over "Firework Island", the Flying Boots are dropped through a mysterious cloud and land on the back of a Pterodactyl. Rolling off the creature, they manage to kill it with machine gun fire and continue their descent to the ground below.

They get caught up in some trees and are attacked by Dinosaur, which they kill with grenades. Shooting themselves free the trio of brothers fight their way through various Dinosaurs with the same thoughts in their heads: The constant demands of Zig-Zag Zack telling them to show him something different. While crossing a downed tree across a chasm, the trio are attacked by another Dinosaur. When they kill this prehistoric beast, the log they are crossing is dropped into the chasm below. Landing in water, they just narrowly avoid becoming food to a giant fish before being dragged out to sea.

There a rescue helicopter comes to pick them up carrying none other than Zig-Zag Zack who is now a Commanding Officer. When the Flying Boots offer him a great act with Dinosaurs, all Zack can say is "Show Me!"
