- On page 12, J'Onn points out that he himself once kept dossiers on his then JLA teammates, referring to the revelation at the end of JLA: Year One #8 (co-written by Mark Waid). Back then, the discovery that J'Onn had been spying on them resulted in him losing the trust of his fellow Leaguers, and even a temporary expulsion from the team. Thus, it makes sense that J'Onn is playing devil's advocate here.
