Synopsis for "Speeding Bullets, Part 1"

An anti-alien extremist group known as "Blue Earth" protest Superman's return and the presence of Warworld in the Solar System. Several members of Blue Earth attempt to kill a group of pro-refugee counter-protestors, but the Superman Family effortlessly stop the terrorist attack. One of the onlookers is John Corben, aka Metallo, who teleports back to his secret base rather than attack Superman. Lex Luthor tells him, via the transceiver in Corben's skull, that if he does not kill Superman tomorrow, Luthor will kill his sister Tracy.

The Superman Family celebrate Clark's return at the Kent's home, where Lois and Clark announce they are adopting Osul-Ra and Otho-Ra, gifting them with their own costumes bearing the sigil of the House of El. Jon is a little nonplussed but says that his new siblings are lucky to have the best parents in the world.

The next day, the Superman Family attends the opening of Steelworks Tower, a new institute founded by John Henry and Natasha Irons to research and develop new technologies to solve the world's problems. Metallo breaks into the Tower and ascends to the top floor. While John Henry is making his commencement speech, Conner Kent notices Metallo but doesn't recognise him in his new body and flies up to investigate. Metallo overwhelms him with a blast of Kryptonite radiation and detonates a bomb which destabilises the whole tower. It starts to collapse and the Superman Family struggle to stop it falling on the people below. Metallo calls out to Superman to come and fight him, telling him that he has to kill him.

Synopsis for "Home Again, Part One"

In the aftermath of Superman's battle with Doombreaker, the Kent family temporarily relocate back to their old farm in California to recuperate. Meanwhile back in Metropolis, Lloyd Crayton disappears from his hospital bed in S.T.A.R. Labs. That night, Batman calls to warn Lois and Clark that the shard of Doomsday's bone which originally mutated Crayton was not found at the scene of the fight and none of the usual suspects, i.e. Luthor, Amanda Waller, etc., have it. It's revealed that Jon took it, as he fears anybody else would either use it to create another monster or lose it to someone who would. He hides it in his treehouse, when suddenly a spaceship crashes in the forest nearby. He flies over to investigate and an alien emerges, who tells him to take her to his king.

Trivia

  • The Kent's "White Farm" from the "Home Again, Part One" story was first featured in Superman: Lois and Clark (Volume 1). Its address number, who was already shown in that volume, is 1938 and obviously references Superman's debut year.
  • In "Speeding Bullets, Part 1", Conner Kent and Kong Kenan play a video game which, while never identified by name, is clearly meant to be Mortal Kombat.
    • Jon Kent, Osul-Ra and Otho-Ra play a card game which is obviously inspired by Pokémon, even using similar names for the monsters.
    • Burblepott and Garglezard's names are puns on Oshawott and Charizard.
    • Jon also suggests they play "Janga", a clear reference to Jenga.
