The Zora Tribe is a recurring aquatic race who live in or near large bodies of water. They have scales and gills to adapt to their environment and almost never stray far from them. Their crest is identical to Nayru's Symbol which associates them with the goddess of wisdom.

Physiology[]

The Zora Tribe is well known known for their humanoid fish like qualities like fins and scales and are very skilled in swimming. They primarily live in Zora's Domain, which flows into Lake Hylia. What sets them apart from the hostile River Zoras is that the friendlier Zoras are more humanoid than monstrous in appearance and not as territorial as the River Zoras. However, not all River Zora are hostile towards outsiders and desire to live in peace with other races, such as Queen Oren and a few of her subjects in A Link Between Worlds, and the River Zoras seen in Echoes of Wisdom.

Zoras are capable of laying eggs, which is evidenced by the Indigo-Gos' lead singer Lulu in Majora's Mask which require them to be together and in the water that has the correct temperature. According to various Zora, she lost her voice after she laid seven eggs, and the purpose of the eggs was to remind her of the New Wave Bossa Nova melody her mother sang for her when she was little, which is known to invigorate singing voices.

Zoras mostly stay near clean wet environments set at a proper temperature, as being in a hot dry setting can make them dry up and can harshly weaken them. Water contamination can also negatively impact their health as well. They are also known to be weak to elements like electricity which can kill them very quickly if they are struck or severely injure them if they managed to survive the shock.

The Zoras are extremely long-lived, though not immortal, as the King Zora from Oracle of Ages was over 400 years of age, and this trait carries over to Breath of the Wild, where most Zora, minus the children, have bore witness to Calamity Ganon's return and are still able to remember their fallen princess and Zora Champion Mipha, with those being children back them are adults, and middle-aged Zora enter their senior years by the time Link wakes up.
