Personality[]
Unlike her mainstream counterpart, Princess Zelda in the cartoon is depict as proud, stubborn, and has a short fuse along with a lack of patience for Link's antics, but she does have a sense of humor. They have a love-hate relationship where she doesn't take kindly to Link's arrogant behavior and is quick to berate him whenever his spoils whatever he's accomplished, and for Link to reply "Well, excuuuuuse me Princess!", and tend to argue quite a lot throughout the series. She is often disgusted by Link's many requests to kiss him, and in cases where she decides to do so, the moment is always interrupted by Ganon's minions, Link's clumsiness, or Spryte the fairy. Despite their clashing, Zelda still cares for Link and will travel alongside him to keep him in line, and when asked to stay behind, she refuses to sit on the sidelines and is often the one who bails Link out of various situations, while sometimes finding herself in danger herself and needs Link to save her. She is very determined in stopping Ganon at all costs and retrieving the Triforce of Power from him so that he can be defeated and ensures that the Triforce of Wisdom is kept out of the Demon King's reach while protecting her kingdom. Zelda is very skilled with the boomerang, bow, sword, etc. which makes her an experienced combatant in battle.
In Captain N. The Game Master, Princess Zelda is depicted as more of a fair and dignified princess who is good friends with Princess Lana yet retaining her fighting skills.
