Ibuki Mioda is a supporting character in the Japanese visual novel game Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair. She is titled the Ultimate Musician. She is voiced by Ami Koshimizu and Julie Ann Taylor in the English dub.

Appearance

Ibuki Mioda has a rather detailed character design with a gothic vibe in it. She appears to be a slightly short teenage girl with a fair complexion. She is noticeably skinny and has a rather flat chest. Her hair is rather long and spiky. In fact, it is styled to resemble either horns or cat ears. In colour, her hair is dark green with streaks of blue, pink and off white. Her eyes are pink and she has eyeliner. Her nails are painted black and she has a blue tattoo resembling stitches on her right leg.

She wears a pale grey sailor and dark green (which matches her skirt) uniform with a pink "scarf" that matches her eye colour. Ibuki has a green scrunchie on her left arm and a single fingerless glove (with several holes in it) that is striped in black and pink. Also, she wears several rings on that same arm as well as a bracelet. She wears ripped thigh high socks in mismatching colours, with the left sock being pink and the right being blue. In fact, her shoelaces are the same colours as her socks but their placement is the opposite, with her left shoe having blue laces and the right having pink laces.

Like Rantaro Amami from the same series of games, Ibuki has a notable amount of piercings. In both of her ears, she has six needle-like earrings. Also, she has three spider bite piercings.

Personality

While her appearance is indeed unique, Ibuki's personality is not ordinary either. Throughout the game, she is portrayed as jovial, quirky and energetic. At times, she can be a little silly and quite forgetful. However, she does seem to have good hearing due to her talent as a musician. She has some sort of mischievous side to her, with her asking to bite Hajime Hinata (twice). Also, she seems to enjoy making flirtatious remarks towards other girls in a joking manner.

Synopsis

Before joining Hope's Peak Academy, little was known about her. However, it was noted that she almost died as a kid and attended Shiba Academy. She was also part of her school's girl band and she took interest in heavy metal music, despite her band focusing on pop music.

When she attended Hope's Peak Academy, she befriended Mikan Tsumiki, Hiyoko Saionji, Peko Pekoyama and Mahiru Koizumi. She also witnessed the murder of Natsumi Kuzuryu and Sato. Later, Ibuki became a member of the Ultimate Despair against her will, along with her classmates.

Eventually, Makoto Naegi tries to undo Junko Enoshima's influence of her and the other remnants of despair via the Neo World Program. However, the Neo World Program had a virus in it, which resulted in Monokuma turning it into a killing game known as the Killing School Trip.

Ibuki Mioda was murdered in chapter 3 along with Hiyoko. She was strangled to death, however it was revealed that she actually survived. When the Killing Game was over, she was awoken from comatose and helped out the now redeemed remenants of despair with stopping Ryota Mitarai from brainwashing the world with hope.
