Renlings are the cousins of Kwamis and are spirit creatures who embody human values. They assist the "Renren", a worthy person that hold the Prodigious and turns them into multiple animals. They are major characters in the Miraculous World: Shanghai - The Legend of the Ladydragon special.
Appearance[]
Renlings are as tall as Kwamis, and look a lot like them, but, Renlings have the bright color schemes of Red and Yellow. Most of them have black and orange undertones. They all have lime green hair as of the concept art, when really they have sunshine yellow hair. They also seem to have purple mouths.
List of Renlings and their abilities[]
Long Long[]
Long Long is the hardest Renling to get access to, as he is the Renling of Justice. The goals of the prodigious holder must be noble and just, and revenge will prevent you from accessing the dragon permanently unless the holder deeply reflects on their actions towards justice. When a holder does access it, however, they get turned into a Dragon, and can control water, air, lightning, weather, and teleport.
Tang Tang[]
Tang Tang is a Renling that can be accessed through breathing and an open mind, as she is the Renling of Patience. The prodigious holder must be patient, and use their time well, all while thinking fast. Accessing her will turn the holder into a Mantis, which grants them the ability to be diminutive.
Xiong Xiong[]
Xiong Xiong is a Renling that will help the holder dearly and keep their mind open, as he is the Renling of Calmness. Staying calm grants the holder access to him, and enhanced strength of the bear.
She She[]
She She will appear if the prodigious holder is brave, and has courage to face their enemy, as she is the Renling of Courage. She gives the holder access to snake form and enhanced flexibility.
Ma Ma[]
Ma Ma is mildly hard to obtain. She is the Renling of Honor, and the prodigious holder must be honorable and helpful to obtain her. Accessing her will turn you into a horse and given enhanced speed.
Hu Hu[]
Hu Hu is the Renling of Discipline, and the holder must be disciplined and have manners to obtain him. Accessing him gives the prodigious holder fierce attack power, and will turn you into a Tiger.
Ying Ying[]
Ying Ying is an energy boost and will certainly help in a fight, as he is the Renling of Confidence. Accessing him will give the prodigious holder flight abilities and will turn them into an Eagle.
Hou Hou[]
As the final Renling, Hou Hou is the most mischievious Renling, and is the Renling of Compassion. The prodigious holder will access enhanced agility, and he will transform you into a Monkey.
Trivia[]
- Many of the Renlings are the same animals as some of their cousins. These include:
- The animal forms of the Renlings are inspired by the Chinese zodiacs.
- The monkey, tiger, snake, horse and the dragon. The rest are not apart of the zodiacs.
- Although the eagle form seems to be inspired from the chicken zodiac since Eagles and Chickens are part of the Avian family.
- The Renlings are also references to the characters from the Kung Fu Panda franchise.

- The Renlings and Kwamis have a few similarities. Both are immortal, intelligent can levitate and are invisible.
- However the differences are: Unlike their miraculous cousins, the Renlings do not require verbal commands in order to transform. As a matter of fact the holder can use the prodigious with or without the need to transform any time.
- The Renlings don’t seem to require food to recharge, nor does the prodigious loose power over time,
- The Renlings are invisible to everyone except the prodigious holder similarly Kwamis are invisible, but only to technology.
- The Renlings represents human values while the Kwamis embody an individual concept respectfully.
- Each Kwami hold their own miraculous while the Renlings are bound to one object simultaneously.
- The Kwamis names have double letters while the Renlings are double worded.
- Every Kwami has a weapon for their holder, but Renlings do not.
- Their five colors in the concept art (green, red, orange, black, white) fit the five elements of Wu Xing, wood, fire, earth, water and metal.
- Their colors are the exact same as Ladydragon's.
- The Prodigious looks similar to the Rabbit and Mouse Miraculous in their charged forms, while also looking like the Ladybug Miraculousin its camouflaged form.
- The word "prodigious" defines huge in size or quantity, remarking how it is way to dangerous and powerful than the most powerful Miraculouses. For this reason the prodigious was to be concealed in a cave for shelter from falling into the wrong hands.
