Look, man, I'm sorry. For all of it. You wanna help me win this thing?
~ Eli's redemption after saving Demetri.

Eli Moskowitz, better known as Hawk, is one of the three deuteragonists (alongside Samantha LaRusso and Amanda LaRusso) of the YouTube Red/Netflix series Cobra Kai.

He is a shy kid who is frequently bullied by Kyler, and whose only friends were Demetri and Miguel. He would go on to become one of Johnny's first students, and would adopt the nickname Hawk after getting a mohawk. While he would gain confidence, his low self-esteem and new power would turn him into a bully, and he would ultimately abandon Johnny for Kreese.

However, eventually he would realize the evil ways of the Cobra Kai dojo and rejoin Johnny and Daniel's combined dojo Cobra Kai. He leaves the dojo to join the now combined Miyagi-Do Karate and Eagle Fang Karate dojos. He tries to make amends for his past transgressions, but faces retribution from his former comrades when they cut off his mohawk and loses his confidence. He temporarily quits karate but eventually joins Miyagi-Do thanks to Demetri. He also rekindles his relationship with Moon, regains his confidence and he defeats Robby Keene after a lengthy fight and becomes the 2019 boys division champion in the During the summer, he starts to regrow back his mohawk and after finding out that Silver bribed the match between Sam and Tory, he along with Miguel, Sam, Robby, and Demetri help expose Terry Silver and stop him once and for all.

He is portrayed by Jacob Bertrand, who also played Kirby Buckets in the titular show.

Cobra Kai[]

Season 1[]

At first Eli is quiet and shy, and he is often teased for his facial scar, the result of a repaired cleft lip. Miguel immediately becomes friends with Eli and Demetri due to them all being unpopular. The three are picked on by Kyler and his friends.

After Miguel beats up Kyler and his friends both Demetri and Eli join the Cobra Kai Dojo. At the dojo, Sensei Johnny Lawrence insults Eli's lip even when he tells him to stop. Johnny tells Eli to flip the script in order to stop the others from making fun of him. Eli then leaves, possibly quitting which makes Johnny upset. He however returns the next day with a Mohawk and says he has flipped the script, which impresses Johnny. From then on his name is Hawk. He even has a tattoo on his back (made by tattoo artist, Rico) which his parents don't know about. Not only does his looks change, but his personality changes as well as he goes from being shy, scared and insecure, to overconfident, over the top, aggressive and hot headed. In a way he turns into Dutch, Johnny's friend at Cobra Kai when they were students at the Cobra Kai dojo.

His new look and personality causes Moon, who used to bully him for his facial scar, to become attracted to him. The two kiss and supposedly become a couple at the lake. At the all valley tournament he reaches the semifinals where he faces Johnny's son, Robby Keene. He wins the first point against Robby, but loses the second. After losing the second point, Hawk taunts Robby and in response Robby mocks Hawk's Mohawk, which infuriates Hawk and causes him to kick Robby from behind in the shoulder, thus dislocating it and causing Hawk to get disqualified from the tournament. Following his disqualification an upset Johnny asks him why he did what he did, but Hawk angrily defends his action and shows no remorse. After Miguel wins the tournament for Cobra Kai, Hawk and the other's cheer for him.

Season 2[]

Hawk's role increases significantly, as his story-line is one of the central plots of the season. He can be considered as one of the main characters of this season.

Following Miguel's victory in the All Valley tournament, Hawk along with Miguel, Aisha, Moon and Demetri celebrate. The following morning however, Hawk and Miguel are forced by Johnny to do 50 push ups because of their cheap moves against Robby in the tournament. He welcomes new students including, Mitch and Chris.

After some time, Miguel finds out that Robby is Johnny's son and he tells Hawk, causing them both to believe the only reason Johnny is being hard on them because they attacked his son. When they confront Johnny, an angry Johnny tells them that despite Robby being his son, he doesn't tolerate unethical behavior. He also tells them to mind their own business.

Over the course of the season Hawk becomes a flat out bully, intimidating and insulting the new students, and bullying Demetri after the latter writes a bad review about Cobra Kai. When Demetri is at the comic store in the mall, Hawk and some of his fellow Cobra Kai classmates corner him, and Hawk attempts to threaten Demetri to take down his yelp review about Cobra Kai. When Demetri refuses, Hawk attacks him. Demetri then runs away, but Hawk and his gang corner him. Hawk is about to attack him again, but Robby and Samantha arrive. Hawk and his gang fight them, but Hawk is beaten by Robby, and the rest of the gang is bested as well. However, his new behaviour scares Moon and causes her to dump him. Furious over the breakup Hawk takes his anger out on a punching bag. Johnny's sensei Kreese then uses Hawks anger against him by manipulating him into behaving more aggressively.

Encouraged by Kreese and without Johnny's knowledge, Hawk leads a small group of students to vandalize and destroy Daniel LaRusso's dojo, and Hawk steals the Medal of Honour which belonged to Daniel's sensei Mr. Miyagi. In retaliation, Johnny collectively punishes the dojo with endless exercises, but Kreese tells Hawk to not come clean. During a competition Miguel notices Hawk with the Medal of Honour and realizes he destroyed Daniel's dojo. Hawk is confronted by Miguel, whom he challenges to get it. Despite putting up a good fight Hawk is defeated by Miguel. Miguel then takes the Medal of Honour and gives it to Robby. Surprisingly, Hawk is not angry at Miguel for this loss, surmising that the fight was fair and square.

During a party at Moon's house Hawk tries to win her back by flirting with another girl, but is shocked when Moon kisses her and reveals they are dating. Hawk is upset as a result. Demetri comes and they manage to briefly bond over "Doctor Who", but after Demetri suggests he have inner peace Hawk responds by pouring beer on his head. Demetri gets revenge on him by taking a mic and revealing embarrassing stories about Hawk. An enraged Hawk tries to attack him, but the cops arrive. Hawk then tells Demetri he will see him at school and runs off.

On the first day of school, Hawk gladly participates in the school brawl. He beats up several Miyagi Do students, before chasing Demetri. Eventually he catches Demetri and starts attacking him, but Demetri defends himself with Daniel's Miyagi-Do Karate teachings and manages to beat Hawk. Hawk witnesses Miguel lying on the ground unconscious. Back in the dojo Hawk along with Tory, Raymond, and Mitch and some other students are training with Kreese. When Johnny comes to the Dojo, Kreese reveals he now owns the dojo. Johnny accuses the students of abandoning him, only for Hawk to blame him for Miguel's injuries.

Season 3[]

When Kreese asks which students besides Bert are uncomfortable feeding the mouse to the snake, Hawk is among the handful that doesn't raise their hands. Hawk, however, is shocked when Kreese permanently kicks out Bert and the students that objected. Hawk tells Kreese that it isn't the right time to make cuts since the school fight, but Kreese questions him if he is bothered, to which Hawk says no. After finding out that the Miyagi Do's are hosting a fundraiser for Miguel's surgery, Hawk vows they won't get away with this. In the end of the day, when the fundraiser ends, Hawk, Mitch and two other Cobra Kai's take the money for Miguel's surgery (Mitch says they plan on giving it to him themselves), and beat up Nathaniel.

At school, Hawk destroys Demetri's project, angering him. At a school soccer game, the Miyagi and Cobra Kai's get physical, with Demetri pushing and leg sweeping Hawk as revenge, and Hawk getting back by headbutting Demetri. One day, Hawk, Mitch and some other Cobra Kai's cause havoc in the arcade, causing some of the Miyagi Do's to stop him, resulting in a fight. After pinning Demetri to the ground, Tory and the other Cobra Kai's tell him to break his arm, while Demetri pleads for him not to do so. After momentarily hesitating, he breaks it, but shows some discomfort when Demetri screams in pain.

When Kyler and Brucks join Cobra Kai, Hawk is unhappy as they were his former bullies, and he tells Kreese they aren't Cobra Kai material, but Kreese says they are natural athletes. When Kyler and Brucks encounter Hawk, they make fun of him. Mitch then loses to Kyler in a sparing match, causing Kreese to kick him out of the dojo. While Hawk says Mitch is loyal, Kreese still kicks him out for not being Cobra Kai material. When it is Bruck's turn to fight, Hawk says he will fight him. Brucks mockingly says he will fix his lip, but is then freaked out when he sees the Eagle tattoo on Hawk's back. Hawk then aggressively beats him up most likely due to his past bullying. In the end Brucks is groaning in pain, while Kyler becomes scared of Hawk.

After Miguel returns to school, Hawk greets him. In the cafeteria, he mocks Mitch and tells him to sit at the losers table. He, however, is then confronted by Miguel for breaking Demetri's arm and going against their sensei Johnny, only for Hawk to say that Johnny betrayed them and is no longer their sensei, making Miguel upset who tells him he is letting Kreese take over his mind. Hawk is then shocked to learn from Miguel that Johnny has started a dojo. Miguel tries to persuade Hawk to join. When Johnny shows up at school later that day, he approaches Hawk and some of the Cobra Kai's, where he acknowledges his mistakes. However, Hawk criticizes Johnny for making them pay the price by quitting and going soft on them, which causes an angry Johnny to remind Hawk that he is the reason that Hawk went from being a wimp to a tough guy, not Kreese. He then tells them that Kreese doesn't care about them and that they should come to his dojo tomorrow.

The following morning when Johnny's students are there, Hawk shows up with the other Cobra Kai's and Kreese, where he reminds Johnny that he is Cobra Kai for life. Hawk's behavior causes his friendship with Miguel to end. After finding out that Robby is a part of Cobra Kai, Hawk is initially angry.

One day, Hawk and some of the Cobra Kai's (which includes Robby) plan to sneak into the Zoo and steal a snake for Kreese. While Hawk aborts the mission due to Kyler forgetting the snake pole, Robby ends up getting the snake. That night after bringing the snake, Kreese reveals to them all that Miguel and Sam are now working together.

Then, on that same night, when the Miyagi Do's and Eagle Fang's who had agreed to work together, were at Sam's house, Hawk and seven other Cobra Kai's show up and attack them. He spends a lot of time fighting one Miyagi Do. While the student puts up a fight and gets some hits, Hawk has the upper hand overall and defeats him. Eventually however, after Kyler attempts to dap him up, Hawk begins to second-guess his decision when Cobra Kai begins to gain the advantage, and starts to recall what Johnny and Miguel said at school, as well as what Kreese said about enemies. After this, he sees Doug holding Demetri's arm. Doug encourages him to break it. Hawk runs up, but knocks down the Cobra Kai student with dreads (while using Demetri's shoulder as leverage) before he grabs a shocked Doug around the neck and flips him onto the glass table, saving Demetri. Afterwards, he apologizes to Demetri for everything he did to him, resulting in their friendship being rekindled; the two then work together to defeat several Cobra Kai's.

After defeating the Cobra Kai's in Sam's house, he heads to Daniel's home dojo by the pool along with Miguel and Demetri, where they see Tory, who was just disarmed by Sam. Hawk tells Tory the fight is over, but she refuses to believe it's over. She leaves, but not before calling Miguel and Hawk traitors and telling the latter to watch his back. The following morning, Hawk goes to Miyagi Do, where he high fives Demetri, and trains with the Miyagi Do and Eagle Fang students under Johnny and Daniel's leadership.

Season 4[]

After Hawk rekindles his friendship with Demetri, he tries to find his place in the combined dojos and atones for his actions when he was at Cobra Kai Dojo. The Eagle Fang and Miyagi-Do see him as their enemy, and punish him by torment when they do their techniques on Hawk, even though he apologizes for his past behavior from his time in Cobra Kai.

Hawk tries to confide in Daniel about it, but Daniel snaps at him, saying he burned his bridges with students from both dojos; he later uses a sledgehammer to help build a sparring deck. After telling Daniel and Johnny they were right about how talk is cheap, he helps the senseis put aside their differences when the students of Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang help to create the sparring deck. Hawk tries to redeem himself for his past actions, and is successful when he later prevents Kenny Payne from attacking Bert and Nate; he later changes his Mohawk color from red to purple, which symbolizes his desire to find balance within himself as both confident fighter and tech enthusiast (as well as balance between red and blue), and he also rekindles his relationship with Moon.

However, Hawk later gets jumped by the Cobra Kai students and gets his Mohawk forcibly shaved off as revenge for betraying Cobra Kai during the house fight and bullying their classmate Kenny Payne; as a result, he loses his confidence and briefly quits karate until Demetri convinces him he wasn't defined by his hair and it will always grow back. Inspired by this, Hawk returns to Miyagi-Do, embraces his real name of Eli, and is forgiven for his actions.

However, later at the tournament, Eli's confidence is still isn't at 100% still thanks in hit from his opponent and is unable to break the last board in the skills division. After a pep talk from Moon, he easily defeats Kyler and goes on to the semi-finals and fight Miguel, but before any of them can score a point, Miguel gets injured. He would later forfeit the match advancing Eli to the finals where he fights Robby. Eli uses defensive moves, and Robby scores a point on him when he switches styles on Robby and is equal to Robby. They later go to sudden death; he scores the point, and wins the Boys Final for Miyagi-Do.

Season 5[]

You know what? That's life. You win some, you lose some, but you gotta move on. You never did. You're still pulling the same old bully act as always. Everyone you bullied has kicked your ass by now.
~ Eli to Kyler in Head of the Snake

Eli and Miyagi-Do meet up where Daniel explains that he is adhering to his bet with Cobra Kai and is shutting the dojo down. Daniel says that Miyagi-Do will still remain inside of them regardless of what happens.

At a tattoo shop, he goes with Demetri and Miguel (who recently returned home from Mexico) to get a new tattoo. The binary brothers get nervous for Miguel after he reveals Sam's messages to him. After her last reply, the two tell Miguel that he is screwed. Demetri and Eli take Miguel to a jewelry store, where he buys an octopus necklace for Sam.

The next day, Eli and Miguel go to a water park where he kisses Moon. When he sees Kenny bullying Anthony, he confronts the group but Tory breaks it up. Later, the two race but Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang get mad when Eli reveals that there was a hole in his floatie. Kenny asks him what he would do about it, to which Eli smirks and says he wouldn't strike first. Kenny seems to back off but then attacks Hawk, who dodges and mocks him. Kenny attacks him again, with Hawk countering his strikes, before being punched. Kenny then tries to kick him but Hawk grabs his foot and hits it, but is then pushed in the pool by Robby. Afterwards, all of the students are then kicked out.

Back at Miyagi-Do, Eli and the other students are training with Chozen Toguchi. The students are hiding eggs but are picked off one by one. Inspired by Anthony's Dungeon Lord analogy, they hide the eggs and protect it as a group. After Chozen runs out of options, he surrenders.

While having dinner at the LaRusso house, Johnny, Robby and Miguel decide that Eli should represent the boys for the boys portion of the Sekai Taikai demonstration. Eli dyed his re-growed mohawk to green. After seeing Kenny being rude to Robby, Eli offers to shut him up but Robby asks Eli to go easy on him. In the first round, Eli loses to Kenny. In the second round, Eli kicks Kenny out of bounds, but the referee says no point because he was out of bounds, much to his and Miyagi-Do's annoyance because he made contact with Kenny in bounds. In the third round, Kenny punches Eli's leg and despite that being an illegal strike, he only gets a warning. After the round, Eli decides to bring out the Hawk. In the fourth round, Kenny uses the "Silver Bullet" method he learned from Silver, to take the breath out of Eli. Eli falls to the ground and struggles to breathe, much to the concern of Miyagi-Do. Eli is unable to compete anymore, which makes Kenny the automatic winner. Despite his loss to Kenny, Sam wins her match against Devon Lee and Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang nonetheless qualify for the tournament. Later on, both dojos celebrate at Miguel's apartment, where Eli (changed his mohawk color back to brown) tries to match Miguel with a new girl, while simultaneously dismissing Mitch's attempt to flirt with her as well.

After finding out about Terry Silver bribing the referee after the 51st All-Valley, Eli goes with Sam, Demetri, Bert and Miguel to confront Stingray, where he demonstrates the crime through Dungeons and Dragons and how Terry beat him up and framed Kreese.

Now ready to finish Cobra Kai, Eli (now in his blue mohawk) and the rest of the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang students head to the dojo with the help of Tory Nichols. While Demetri is finding evidence, Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang are confronted by Cobra Kai. Everyone gets surprised where they learned that Mitch betrays the merged dojos and tipped off the Cobra Kai students. When Miguel stops Kenny, a huge fight occurs.

Kyler checks out the office and insults the binary brothers, especially mocking Eli for his defeat against Kenny; Eli replies that winning and losing are a part of life, and so he accepted it and moved on, like every mature person should, while Kyler never did so and instead keeps playing his bully act despite having been beaten by all the people he bullied. While Demetri states he has not yet beaten Kyler, Eli quickly reassures him he will beat Kyler as well, and then states Kyler is too stupid to learn his lesson; an angry Kyler attacks Eli, who at first gains the upper hand on him and his friends, but eventually, since it's a 3-against-1, Kyler and the other two manage to briefly turns the tables until Demetri intervenes, and the binary brothers defeat their opponents once again.

While Anthony checks the upload progress, the Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang students protect him until the video is loaded and played on the dojo's TV. This stops the brawl, and then, after a lengthy fight, Daniel defeats Terry Silver, who is then abandoned by his students.

Season 6[]

Part 1[]

Hawk and Demetri arrive to West Valley High on their first day of school where they are welcomed by their classmates. During training, he and Demetri reveal the dojo name to their sensei's and classmates where they will be named Miyagi-Fang Karate, featuring a logo of Mr. Miyagi with fangs. While training, he welcomes Kenny after he decides to join Miyagi-Fang.

At school, Hawk, Miguel, and Demteri are attending the college fair. Hawk and Demetri have been wanting to go to MIT, "Massachusetts Institute of Technology," together. During a college tour, the binary brothers and Miguel runs into Kyler and Brucks. They are surprised that Kyler goes to College of the Valley. He also apologizes to Brucks for brutally beating him but Brucks admits that their fight changed him. Kyler also explains that Brucks goes to MIT, to Demetri's surprise. Later, Miguel, Hawk, and Demetri goes to a party hosted by a fraternity named, Theta Omega, where Kyler is being hazed by the fraternity members and their leader, Zenker. During the party, Hawk chugs beer and puts the empty cups on his head, causing the other college students to call him “Spikes”. The binary brothers are curious about how Brucks got into MIT by asking about his SAT score. Later, Kyler picks a fight with the frat students after learning from Zenker of his plan to disqualify him and that he was never going to be a member. Miguel, Hawk, Demetri, and Brucks assists him of fighting Zenker and the frat members before the 5 leave the house. While hanging out in the arcade, Brucks reveals to Hawk and Demetri that he scored a 750 on his SAT and that the MIT he's referring to is Midwest Industrial Training.

During training, Hawk tells Chris, Kenny, and Nate about his excitement about where the Sekai Taikai is going to be held. Later, he shows a video of Gunther revealing that the location of the tournament is in Barcelona, Spain. However, he explains the selection process and that each dojo would need to pick six fighters, much to the disappointment of the students.

At school, Hawk (now in his USA colored mohawk) and Demetri talk about getting a spot in the tournament and that they think Kenny should have the last spot. Before the tournament, Mike Barnes has the students undergo rigorous training processes. After the first session, Hawk is one of the twelve students who moves on to the next round. However, he has to participate in a tiebreaker with Demetri, Devon and Kenny for the final two spots. While getting ready to race in the forest, Hawk admits to Demetri that he never applied to MIT and explains that since the frat party, it helped him get back on track and he wanted to keep his options open. Demetri gets upset at this but Hawk says that he'll still apply for MIT later. The race between the four students begin. When Hawk and Demetri are fighting for the flag, Demetri takes advantage of Hawk and cheap shots him and earns a spot along with Devon. This, ultimately, results in a rift between the binary brothers, and saddens Hawk as he is not able to go to Barcelona for the tournament.

Before Miyagi-Do's training session, Demetri reveals to Miguel, Sam, and Hawk that he got accepted to MIT while reminding Hawk about not applying. Later, Hawk watches the captain’s match between Miguel and Robby first and then Sam and Tory, which resulted with Robby’s victory and Sam earning the position after Tory leaves the team and presumably quits karate following her mother's death. With Tory not going to compete with Miyagi-Do, Hawk takes her place. This unexpectedly gives the binary brothers the chance to go to Barcelona together as they planned while there’s no resolution between the two.

Hawk goes with Demetri, Miguel, Robby, Sam, Devon, Johnny, and Daniel to Barcelona to compete in the Sekai Taikai. While getting ready, they see the new Cobra Kai, led by John Kreese and Kim Da-Eun and their fellow students, led by Kwon Jae-Sung. Shortly, Tory appears with them, revealing that she has rejoined Cobra Kai, much to Hawk and Miyagi-Do's shock.

Part 2[]

In their hotel, Hawk and Miguel are roommates while the same goes for Demetri and Robby with the binary brothers still at odds with each other. At the Barcelona Aquarium, Hawk and his friends watch as Robby participates in a kicking contest, but he loses and is forced to surrender his room to Kwon. In their new hotel room, Hawk and Miyagi-Do confronts Robby about how he knew about Kreese talking to Tory back home. He counters that this was before her mother's death and she initially rejected his offer. On the first day of the tournament, Miyagi-Do participates in a Captain’s War fight against Cobra Kai, Iron Dragons, and the Italian dojo, Falchi Della Notte. Miyagi-Do loses due to Robby being unfocused about Tory before they watch Cobra Kai being defeated by the Iron Dragons.

After Miyagi-Do struggles on the next several rounds, Daniel tells them that they knew this isn't an easy journey. Back to their hotel room, Miguel tells Hawk and Demetri about how he's unsure about Robby advancing despite the latter being captain. The binary brothers tell him that he should've been captain. With Daniel gone to investigate Mr. Miyagi's past, Johnny takes the lead with him telling the students to use more offense. At the tournament, the first batch of Miyagi-Do students fight in the platform rounds, but they lose. Despite Miguel’s victory against the Japanese dojo, Hirobukan, Miyagi-Do is still in the bottom of the rankings. In the locker room, Johnny berates the students for not advancing with Hawk and Demetri arguing. In the next event, Miyagi-Do fights the Dublin Thunders with Johnny allowing the students to use Daniel's teachings. When Hawk was fighting one of their students, Demetri accidentally knocks both Hawk and his opponent off the platform before he gets knocked out by another Dublin Thunder student. Miyagi-Do advances after Miguel takes out the last two Dublin Thunders.

While Miguel and Johnny head back to LA to check on Carmen's pregnancy situation, Hawk and the Miyagi-Do students head to a bar at night with him telling Devon that Kenny's going to replace Miguel. When Maria Alvarez, student of the local dojo Furia de Pantera, asks one of the binary brothers to dance with her, Hawk turns her down and Demetri does so against Hawk's warning that it'll ruin his and Yasmine's relationship. Shortly, Moon FaceTimes Hawk to check up on him, but when he shows her where he's at, he inadvertently shows Demetri dancing with Maria and this causes Yasmine, who was hanging out with Moon, to breakup with Demetri. On their way back to their hotel room, Demetri gets mad at Hawk for ratting him out to Yasmine with Hawk telling him not to do pull off a stunt like that. He vents to Devon about Demetri not taking accountability.

The next day, Hawk and Miyagi-Do learns from Daniel and Chozen about Terry Silver's return and that he owns the Iron Dragons. They informs this to Miguel and Johnny when they arrive back with Kenny, who will take Devon's spot instead of Miguel. Demetri tells Hawk that he suspects that Kenny will betray them for Silver because of the latter being upset about the laxative incident and due to them coming at the same time. When Miyagi-Do fight Furia de Pantera, they lose due to Hawk tagging a confused Robby instead of Kenny. He and Demetri accuses him of being a mole for Silver. Kenny defends himself that he really wants to help Miyagi-Do until Robby breaks up the argument and takes the blame for losing. Later, Hawk catches Kenny talking to Silver and tells Demetri about it. Miyagi-Do wins their match against the Brazilian dojo, Redentores, thanks to Kenny after Robby tags him which made Hawk and Demetri realize they were wrong about Kenny being a traitor before celebrating their victory. In the locker room, Hawk and Demetri reconcile with Demetri coming to terms with Hawk's decision about college while the two assures that they’ll always be the binary brothers. Miguel then hugs them reminding the two that they will be always be his friends before he tells them, along with Robby, Sam, Kenny, and Devon that they’re both family and Miyagi-Do. Thanks to a rejuvenated Robby, the students regain their focus. Miyagi-Do fights Cobra Kai with Hawk, Demetri, and Kenny teaming up to defeat Yoon Do-Jin. After a successful match between Robby and Kwon, Miyagi-Do defeats Cobra Kai and advances in the semifinals.

At the hotel, Miyagi-Do learns about Cobra Kai's reinstatement following the disqualification of the Russian dojo, Tiger Strike. However, during the match between Robby and Iron Dragon student, Axel Kovacevic, Kwon cheap shots Robby which lead the Tiger Strike sensei’s to start an all-out brawl between the dojos. During the fight, Hawk and Demetri team up to fight the Tiger Strike students with help from students from Furia de Pantera including Maria and Diego Aguilar. Hawk and Diego gave each other a nod of approval for taking down their opponents. The fight is then stopped when Kwon accidentally impaled himself with Kreese’s knife while he tried to kill Axel much to everyone’s shock.

Personality[]

Hawk: Defeat does not exist.
Demetri: Now there's that winning attitude that pushed her away in the first place. I think you need a healthy dose of inner peace.
~ Demetri to Hawk about his evil personality.

Like the other misfits in his school, Eli is a very quiet and introverted individual. His only friend is Demetri. After witnessing Miguel Diaz beating Kyler's gang, he joins Cobra Kai. After Johnny Lawrence mocks him for his lip scar, Eli becomes angry and unhappy. However, he later learned how to use his facial difference to "flip the script" and gain confidence of himself. After becoming "Hawk" his personality drastically changes as he is aggressive, hotheaded and disobedient. His new behaviour, however, gets the better of him as he angrily attacks Robby from behind during the All Valley tournament, but shows no remorse in doing when his act gets him disqualified.

Hawk's behaviour and actions become much worse and more dangerous the more involved in Cobra Kai he becomes, as he adopts a far more thuggish, cruel and dark approach toward life, given that he is shown intimidating new students and calling them "fresh fishes", as well as bullying people and trashing the Miyagi Do Karate Dojo. Hawk even turns on his best friend Demetri and bullies him after the latter writes a negative review about Cobra Kai, as well as allowing Johnny's sensei Kreese to poison and corrupt his mind. During the high school brawl, Hawk attacks Demetri, who kicks his former best friend into a trophy case and defeats him. At the end, after Johnny walks into the dojo and finds out that Kreese, along with Hawk and the others have betrayed him, Hawk openly blames Johnny for Miguel being hospitalized.

While Hawk remains just as aggressive as ever, he shows signs of his conscience bothering him, as he begins to notice Kreese's merciless methods don't sit with him as well as he initially thought. When he joint locks Demetri during the Laser Tag brawl, he is clearly conflicted about injuring his former best friend, despite their contentious recent history. Eventually, during the invasion in the LaRusso house, Hawk begins to realize Kreese's ways are wrong, and saves his best friend from getting his arm re-broken; after apologizing to Demetri, Hawk reconciles with Demetri and fights side-by-side with him to defeat his former compatriots. Reconciled with his old friends, Hawk later joins Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang in preparing to fight Cobra Kai.
