It seems my role is to be the brains of this team. I'll analyse Mona's information and give out orders. Any objections?
~ Makoto Niijima taking on the role of strategist.
You're crying. I said you're crying. Just wondering why. Is it because I humiliated you in front of the entire school? Or because you couldn't play in the big game tonight? Oh wait no no. You’re probably feeling sad because you killed my dog. Or was it because your junkie friends snorted what they thought was I don't know? Speed or something... Leaving you all alone for once.
~ Cal confronts Vic about his strategy of sabotaging his friend's coke

Strategists are heroes who, instead of facing their enemies head on, are full-on tacticians who strategize their moves in advance, come up with elaborate schemes and make full use of the skill in strategy to plan out events before they are set to motion, which they do in order to exploit their enemies' weaknesses and defeat their enemies with a tactical approach.

Strategic heroes are usually intelligent and/or calculated enough to create such impactful moments within the story that they appear in such as aiding their allies with their strategies, use plots to achieve noble causes or otherwise to tactically defeat the villains and/or their rivals with ease. However, it is also possible for some strategists to be Dimwits (or otherwise Misguided), especially if most of their tactics backfire on them.

This is not to be confused with Strategic villains.
