Heroes who make a hobby of inventing/building new devices. Some of their inventions will be of great import to the plot, other times the new creations are simply used in the narrative to show the creator is highly intelligent and passionate about practical applications of their wits.

While undoubtedly one of the most useful and versatile skills a hero can possess, it is also one of the easiest to be turned against the hero, as their inventions can easily be stolen or exploited by the enemy. Victims of this include Iron Man and Hiro Hamada.
