The positive alternative to villains who are misogynists and misandrists, these are heroes who are known for their awareness and passion for standing up for gender rights and equality, especially, though not exclusively, those of women. They are well known for standing up against sexist stereotypes and chauvinism.

They may also not fight directly for women's rights, but they agree with the movement.

Feminists are one of the most important of heroines, as they are an allegory for how the places women are put into have been changing over time. It should also be noted that feminists can also be male.

The male counterpart of Feminism is Masculism.
