When the chefs arrived in Los Angeles, they were greeted by James on the bus ride, and then, it pulled over to the Orpheum Theatre, where they would be given a standing ovation by a live audience. However, when the curtain was pulled up, they discovered that the room was completely empty, much to their disappointment before Ramsay revealed himself applauding very slowly. After the latter revealed the grand prize of the season, the chefs were asked to get back to Hell's Kitchen and cook their signature dishes.
During the Signature Dish Challenge, Tommy was the eighth person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and went up against Elizabeth. Before revealing his dish, he was asked to reveal the tattoo he had on his forehead, which said "Rock & roll", and despite his dish being unknown, it was praised for having finesse and tasting nice, and he tied the round with Elizabeth.
The blue team won the challenge 6-5, and they were rewarded with a dinner at the LA Market, in downtown Los Angeles, along with Season 8 winner Nona. Arrived there, they were greeted by Nona, and during the dinner, she gave them advice on how to compete. After she left, the men toasted to their victory. The next day, both teams went to the kitchens to begin prepping for the opening night, and they were given their Henkel knives set.
During dinner service, Tommy was on the dessert station. He was not seen much, but at one point, he was sent to the fish station to cook scallops. However, when he sent them, they were boiled, he was told by Ramsay that it sucked and that he took a heel of a dive, and he became the third person who was ordered to bench at the chef's table, following Chino and Steven. When they were served a Sauvignon Blanc, Ramsay called them the three fucking stooges, and after the customers walked out, the service was shut down. The blue team lost the service, and they were asked to nominate two people.
He was not nominated for elimination.[1]

The next morning, the chefs were woken up by a young guitarist and very loud amplifiers, and Tommy was amused as he thought he would have probably done the same thing if he was a child like him. The chefs were ordered to get outside, and arrived there, Ramsay introduced the Meat & Grill Challenge, where each pair would have to cook a medium-rare New York strip, a medium rib-eye, a medium-well filet mignon, and a well-done burger. During the challenge, he was paired with Chino, they were the second pair to compete for the blue team, and they succeeded to score three points out of four. The blue team won the challenge 11-10, and they were rewarded with a lunch on the top of Palm Springs with Ramsay, and being taken there in a private jet.
During dinner service, Tommy was on the meat station. When the blue team was struggling to get an entrée out, he was still relaxed as he wanted to get his thing done properly despite Will and Paul losing their temper, but when he sent his duck to the pass, it was overcooked. Because of that, Ramsay reminded the men that they did not send one entrée out yet, urged them to get it together, but after a lot of mistakes, the blue team was kicked out of the kitchen. Back in the dorms, he was targeted by Will for his communication issues, and by Paul for not being able to cook duck.
The blue team lost the service, Tommy was not nominated for elimination, and despite him and his teammates trying to convince Ramsay not to, the blue team learned that a woman would be joining them the following morning.[2]

The next morning, the chefs were woken up by clowns, and when both teams were lined up in the dining room, Sous Chef Scott revealed that they were woken up by clowns because they were cooking like clowns, which amused Tommy as he found it a stunning metaphor. After taking a delivery of naan bread with the other chefs, he and the blue team welcomed Natalie as a new teammate, much to his annoyance.
During the Mommy & Me Lunch Service Challenge, Tommy was not seen at all, and after the blue team succeeded to send their last ticket before the red team, they gave a warm welcome to Natalie by celebrating her arrival on the team. The blue team won the challenge, and they were rewarded with a day and lunch at Medieval Times, as well as sword-fighting lessons. When they came back from their reward, he was seen acting like a fool in front of the red team.
During the Family Night dinner service, Tommy was on the garnish station. At one point, his chicken tenders were burned, much to Will and Paul's dismay, but he decided to serve them anyway despite Will convincing him not to. He was berated by Ramsay for that mistake, the latter compared the tender to baby flip-flops, and the blue team was ordered to start over. Moments later, he was being bossed by Will as the latter did not trust him anymore, acknowledged that he was great at calling out and being vocal and that despite wanting to tell him to be left alone, his help was extremely needed. But, when he sent ketchup along with his chicken tenders, Sous Chef Scott threatened to throw the unneeded food at him if he would continue to bring it. The blue team won the service by a mile.[3]

Arrived there, Ramsay introduced the Chicken Creation Challenge, and Tommy was not seen much during the first part. During the second part, he was paired with Monterray, they worked on the grilled chicken course, and he revealed that he wanted his entire dish to be grilled, from the chicken to the garnishes. However, because Monterray dropped half of the chicken on the floor, the presentation of their dish was minimal. They were the third pair from the blue team to have their dish judged, and when Ramsay asked him what happened to his and Monterray's chicken, he revealed Monterray's mistake but reassured that the dropped half was not on the plate. However, Ramsay refused to have the dish tasted, and they automatically lost the round to Jamie. However, the dish was criticized for being overly busy, and he lost that round to Gina.
The blue team eventually won the challenge after a tie at 2 each, and they were rewarded with a spa day at Beverly Hills’ Montage. During the reward, Paul playfully teased at Tommy that with his rocker look, he fit right in with the setting, and he jokingly commented that he felt right at home, before wondering if people were going to put hot stones on his ass cheeks. At one point, he did not respond to Monterray’s order callback, gave out inconsistent timings to the latter, and had to re-fire his cod as the initial order came out burnt. Because of his and Monterray’s struggles, some of the blue diners were growing impatient. That angered Ramsay, and after berating both him and Monterray about their overcooked proteins, he kicked them out of the kitchen. While going back to the dorms, Monterray blamed him for pushing the times back, while he felt that he did not deserve to go up with the former as he was not terrible. Both teams were named joint-losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During deliberation, he was considered by both Jonathon and Paul for elimination, with the latter called him out for turning his back on Ramsay when he was yelling at him. While he claimed he did not do it on purpose, Paul reminded him that turning his back on Ramsay was the equivalent of giving the middle finger to him and urged him to be more vocal.
Tommy was named the blue team's second nominee for elimination, with Monterray as the first, and they joined Krupa and Elise from the red team. During his plea, Ramsay accused him of melting down into his own personal zone, and while he admitted that he should have communicated more, he did not step down from his station and felt that cutting off Ramsay and the blue team was a fault that night, not a shutdown. After Jonathon was kicked out of the kitchen, he replaced the latter on meat. Both teams were named joint-losers, and they were asked to nominate two each. During the American Classics Challenge, Tommy was slow on who was cooking what, irritating Paul, and the blue team instead grabbed what they wanted to work with. In addition, his suggestion on a flatbread pizza confused Jonathon. 5 minutes left, Jonathon did not have his pizza in the oven due to his lack of leadership, and the two hustled to try and get it ready. They were punished by taking in a delivery of 200 pounds of grapes and make jam out of them for the Steakhouse service. He was not happy to have missed the horseback reward as he liked riding anything that had motors or legs. During the punishment, his grape related jokes did not help morale on the blue team.
During the Steakhouse double dinner service, Tommy was on the appetizer station during the first seating. On the blue team’s first order, he did not respond to his teammates until Ramsay prompted him, before the latter ordered him to speed up. However, he was not communicating again, frustrating the blue team, and Ramsay accused them of watching him sink. Despite that, he argued that he did not need to respond to something he already knew, and his appetizers were finally being sent out. During the second seating, he was a waiter. He clearly showed his lack of waiter skills as he had trouble writing down orders, and when he gave the order to Ramsay, the latter dismayingly banged his head on the hot pass as his handwriting looked like a 9-year-old did it. While Will told him to get his head in the game, he had to pick up the pieces of the ticket Ramsay ripped apart. He continued to struggle as his poor handwriting angered Ramsay yet again, that time being compared to Cantonese as he ripped the ticket up.
Both teams were named joint-losers, with Ramsay berating Tommy for not communicating with his teammates all night like a wall, and they were asked to nominate one person each. During deliberation, Natalie considered him for the lack of communication.

During the King of the Hill Challenge, Tommy got chicken, carrots, and mango, and his country was India. He was the first person to have his dish judged, and presented his roasted chicken with mango curry. He was then dethroned by Elizabeth, and the blue team lost the challenge. They were punished by prepping both kitchens for that night’s dinner service. During the punishment, he asked Will a prep question, but Natalie called him dumb in response when he tried to open a bottle with a knife.

After Natalie sent up inconsistently cooked scallops, he called it a major mistake. entrées. However, Sous Chef Scott sternly reminded him to put the onion rings on paper towel when they are out of the fryer, even threatening to beat him up with a ring. While claiming he could cook onion rings, he sent up a soggy serving, but despite that, the blue team was continuing to push entrées out at a steady pace. When Elise tried to blame him for improperly scoring her Wellingtons, he reminded her that he did not score them, with footage from earlier proving he was in the right.

He was the first person from the blue team to have his dish judged by Ramsay, and went up against Jennifer. He lost that round to Jennifer, but the blue team won the challenge 2-1. They were rewarded with a shopping spree at Ted Baker’s and rode in a limousine. During the reward, he was ready to have a good time, and picked out a dress for his girlfriend, even sizing up one of the staff for measurements.
During the Charity Night dinner service, Tommy was in charge of the risotto course, and the lamb Wellington course. On the scallops course, he sent up a watery salad, irritating Paul. On his first course, he said that his risottos would be ready in six minutes, but Will told him not to add the Parmesan unless they were absolutely finished. However, he told Will to go away, and when he sent the risottos up, Ramsay found that there were three different tastes, but with some help from Will, the men got their re-fires accepted. On his second course, he once again did not respond to Will and Paul’s questions and Ramsay warned him to get a grip as the risotto course was a fucking disaster. That finally pushed him to become vocal with his teammates, the men were able to get their course out, and Ramsay told him that he finally redeemed himself. The blue team won the service.

He was the first person to have his dish judged, and presented his chicken and dumplings with roasted red onions in the broth, but walked his dish very slowly to the judges. While it was praised for having great colors and having the great use of the onions, it was criticized for having an undercooked dumpling, and he scored 74 points in total. He lost the challenge to Will, and was punished by participating in laundry day the old fashion way, by hand, which included washing Ramsay’s jackets. During the punishment, his antics amused Jennifer.
Later that night, the black jackets learned that they would be cooking against a team of veteran chefs in the following dinner service. When the black jackets were working on their menu, his suggestion of adding wasabi with their tuna tartare made Elise snappy.
During dinner service, Tommy was on the appetizer station with Will. He was not seen much, except for getting directed by Will on cleaning their plates, and was called Will's bitch by Elise. While the black jackets won the service for having a 96% approval rating over the veterans 83%, Ramsay asked them to nominate two people for elimination. During deliberation, he noted how it sucked to lose somebody after a strong service, but knew that it was a competition, before recalling Paul’s overcooked lobster and Jennifer’s cold bok choy.
He was not nominated for elimination.[13]
Episode 14[]

During the Alaskan Salmon Profit Challenge, Tommy was the third person to have his dish judged and presented his pan-roasted Alaskan salmon with light pomegranate Berblanc sauce. While it was praised for the seasoning, it was criticized for a dry fish, and he finished with a $25.33, which he deemed a big kick in the balls. After hearing about Jennifer's poached dish, he called it a ballsy move. He lost the challenge to Paul, but was chosen by the former to come on the reward, although he told Paul not to kiss him. They went on a helicopter tour of Los Angeles with Ramsay, and lunch at the Water Grill. During the reward, he freaked out as he was afraid of heights, and during lunch, he met with Executive Chef Amanda, before jokingly commented how he was berated during dinner services.
When Tommy and Paul came back from their reward, he made a joke about Elise picking out bones, much to the latter’s annoyance. During dinner service, he was at the dessert station. He begged to help Jennifer out despite her quiet performance but was forced to rush out the capellini as she abruptly announced she was ready for the first table, frustrating him as it could fuck the team-up. After, he sent up raw capellini, they were forced to start over and felt like a fool thanks to Jennifer’s poor teamwork, while Ramsay was frustrated by the lack of coordination. As he and Jennifer continued to work in silence, Ramsay criticized their lack of fight back. When Jennifer and Elise argued about timings, he yelled that in real life, they would all get fired because of that. Later, he wanted an extra minute for his capellini, but Jennifer sent it to the pass, and the pasta was raw again. After, he frustratingly decided to help Elise out on fish, even though the latter did not want his help. The two proceeded to argue, and he noticed that Elise’s flattop was not hot enough for the fish, but she pushed him aside. Eventually, the final five were kicked out of the kitchen due to multiple mistakes, but when Paul and Will was called back, he was pissed that he was not called up like the other two men and questioned why he was kicked out.
The final five were asked to nominate two people for elimination, but before heading back to the dorms, Tommy asked Ramsay why he was kicked out as he wanted to cook that night. However, Ramsay told him to fuck off unless he wanted his head in the oven, although he challenged the latter to do it.

Episode 15[]

The next day, Tommy received a visit from his mother and his girlfriend, although he made out with his girlfriend next to his mother with Ramsay pointing it out. After hearing that he could win a chance to spend more time with his loved ones, he got nervous as he wanted to spend time with his girlfriend.
During the Taste It Now Make It Challenge, Tommy used monkfish as his protein, serrano ham as the ham wrapping did not taste salty enough to be prosciutto, and mushrooms, kale, and cream for his garnish. He was the first person to present his dish but hated going first, and when Ramsay asked him why he chose monkfish, he answered it was his best guess. While Ramsay deemed the dish nice, he was not told how close it was to the original. While he got the garnishes correct, he was disqualified for using serrano ham as the correct ham wrapping was prosciutto. He lost the challenge to Paul, and was punished by participating in moving day, which included moving out all the unneeded furniture in the dorms. During the punishment, he was in shock over the female’s food trash, before finding a sauce stain underneath one of the blue beds, asking Elise to taste it as she had the best palate.
During prep, Tommy and Elise argued over whether a container had mascarpone or butter in it, although he conceded defeat after tasting it, which was butter. During dinner service, he was on the fish station. At one point, he not respond to Paul, frustrating the latter until his third time. After, Paul and Ramsay discovered a raw cod he sent up, and when the former asked him for the refire constantly, he got annoyed by that as he felt Paul was too antsy. Then, a shouting match between him and Paul occurred, but the refire was finally accepted. He was the second person to run the pass, and despite being picked on as a quiet guy, he was ready to show he could be a loud guy. Despite almost forgetting to grab a ticket with him, he called out the order very thoroughly, but Paul and Elise needed a reread as they were confused on the order. Then, James sent up a purposely wrong ticket that had a filet on the order when it was not on the menu, but he did not notice it and read out the incorrect ticket. Fortunately, Will knew that it was wrong and told him to call back James, while Ramsay reminded him to read out the ticket in his mind before out loud. Despite the problems, he was able to push out appetizers and was ready on entrées. However, he confused the timings as he called out a minute and a half on garnishes, but despite his uneven leadership, food was leaving the kitchen. Later, Elise rejected his sea bass for being chewed up like a dog, but he felt there was room for one Ramsay and one big mouth.
After service, Ramsay asked the final four to come up with a reason why deserved to be in the finals. During deliberation, Tommy called it the most important night as a chef and felt that he did well, but none of the other chefs spoke up about it, turning his confidence down a notch.
When the final four came downstairs, Ramsay eliminated Tommy as while he both understood and appreciated him the most, he felt he was not ready to become his next Head Chef. Before leaving, Ramsay praised him for his energy, and that he belonged in a kitchen. As he handed over his jacket, he confirmed that the tattoos were staying, and during his exit interview, he received a retrospective montage. Ramsay gave no comment on his elimination, and he did not receive the coat hanging and burning picture sequence.[15]

Because I'll stick your fucking head in that oven, and I'll talk to you through the fucking gas burner." Tommy: "Do it!" Gordon: "Please don't rub any more salt in the wound!"
