The Titans are gathering in Ulduar to prepare the planet for the Age of Mortals.

Legendary Titans and Keepers[]

Eonar, the Life-Binder full
Each class gets a Titan, a celestial being born of a world-soul like Azeroth’s. Minions with the new Titan keyword have three special activated abilities that they use instead of their normal attack. Each turn, including the turn you play them, you can choose to activate one of those abilities. Once an ability is used, that ability can’t be chosen again. Once all three abilities have been used, the Titan attacks normally instead of with its abilities.
The Titans created powerful keepers that they imbued with some of their power. The keepers were left to create, nourish, and protect the fledgling life on the planet. The denizens of Azeroth would worship these keepers like they were gods, and many great myths were written about them. Each class gets one of these world-shaping Legendary minions!

New Keyword: Forge[]

Cyclopian Crusher full

Titans Pantheon

Titans of the Pantheon

Pantheon Chronicle

The Pantheon as depicted in World of Warcraft: Chronicle Volume 1

The titans (sometimes capitalized) are a race of colossal, planet-sized cosmic beings, composed of arcane magic and the primordial matter from which the universe was born. They roamed across the cosmos like walking worlds, imbued with the raw power of creation itself. The titans used this incredible force to find and awaken others of their kind. Hailing from the far reaches of the cosmos, they shaped and brought life and order to countless worlds across the Great Dark Beyond. They were described as perfect and majestic beings who are akin to gods.

“In many ways, the titans will be the easiest to manipulate. Their singular goal is to impose structure upon everything they see. Show them a force that opposes their drive for Order, and they will be consumed by their urge to eradicate it. Their pantheon, so seemingly united in purpose, is vulnerable to fracturing.”

— A nathrezim describing the titans in a book of enemy infiltration

The titans are colossal godlike beings made up of the primordial matter from which the very universe was born. Imbued with the raw power of creation itself, they roam the cosmos like walking worlds. Titans are born from world-souls, spirits who are formed within the fiery cores of a small number of worlds and who slumber for ages, suffusing the planets they inhabit with Spirit energy before finally awakening. Described as living worlds, their bodies are covered in mountain peaks and rivers, their forms wrapped in cloaks of stardust and their eyes shining like brilliant stars. Bastions of purity and good, the titans are unable to conceive of evil or wickedness in any form.

Titans are heavily tied to the cosmic force known as arcane. In fact, arcane is their very lifeblood. The original Well of Eternity, an enormous lake of volatile arcane energies, was literally the very lifeblood of Azeroth's world-soul. They are also uniquely susceptible to fel magic, their polar opposite. Mature titans are immune to the corruptive influences of the void lords.

According to the cosmology chart, the titans, as the embodiments of Order, are most closely associated with the element of Earth, as well as sharing an association with the element of Water with the Wild Gods.

Despite what is commonly known on Azeroth as history, the Titans were in some way connected to the First Ones, the same entities that organized and designed the Pantheon of Death of the Shadowlands, along with the Shadowlands themselves. The titans connection to the Progenitors, and the otherwise unknown facility known as Zereth Ordus, was concealed and forbidden by the command of Odyn, placing Titans as the absolute pinnacle of existence in their records so as not to 'confuse' mortals, in his words.

Ulduar[]

Ulduar WoW

Ulduar in World of Warcraft

Ulduar (pronounced /'əlduːɑr/ is the biggest titan-forged complex on Azeroth. Perfectly preserved in the snows of the Storm Peaks, it was once thought to house fabled treasures and relics along with its great engines of creation, in reality, it was conceived first and foremost as a prison for the Old God Yogg-Saron. It notably encompasses the Halls of Stone, the Temple of Wisdom, the Halls of Lightning, and the prison of the Old God Yogg-Saron.

The Halls of Valor were a section of Ulduar until Helya ripped, and stationed them in the misty heavens above Azeroth.

"For millennia, Ulduar has remained undisturbed by mortals, far away from their concerns and their struggles. Yet since its recent discovery, many have wondered what the structure's original purpose may have been. Some thought it a city, built to herald the glory of its makers; some thought it a vault containing innumerable treasures, perhaps even relics of the mighty Titans themselves. Such speculations were wrong. Beyond Ulduar's gates lies no city, no treasure vault, no final answer to the Titan's mysteries. All that awaits those who dare set foot in Ulduar is a horror even the Titans could not, would not destroy, an evil they merely... contained."

"Beneath ancient Ulduar, the Old God of death lies, whispering.... Tread carefully, or its prison will become your tomb."

Since discovering Ulduar in the Storm Peaks, adventurers had journeyed to the titan city to learn more about its mysterious past. Further exploration revealed that the magnificent complex included a prison, intended to permanently confine the Old God Yogg-Saron. This ancient horror had corrupted its guards, and was breaking through the last of its restraints.

Faced with the peril of Yogg-Saron's imminent freedom, a band of mortals made preparations for a sweeping assault on the city. Overcoming the legions of iron minions and towering defenses at the city's entrance took tremendous strength, but even that great victory may not be enough to overcome the madness that dwells below.

The Lore of the Titans[]

Azeroth is one of many worlds in the Warcraft universe. Many cosmic forces and mythical beings have influenced Azeroth and the many characters we know and love (and love to hate) in it. Legends tell us that the massive, godlike beings known as titans were formed from the primordial matter from which the cosmos was formed. Their spirits are said to be born as world-souls, formed within the fiery cores of distant planets, slumbering for untold ages. When they finally awaken, embodying the raw power of Order itself, these titans wander the distant corners of the Great Dark Beyond, searching for other world-souls that can be awakened to join their cause.

For our next expansion, Hearthstone is putting its own spin on World of Warcraft’s titan lore, inspired by established Warcraft stories and also creating some Hearthstone-specific aspects for our players to enjoy. We hope you enjoy this unique take on the stories of the titans.
