BAWSAQ is a global stock exchange featured in the HD Universe of the Grand Theft Auto series.
Description[]
They are primarily located at the Bawsaq Building on the corner of Kunzite Street and Burlesque in Star Junction, Algonquin.
BAWSAQ is often mentioned in Weazel News reports and by various people in Grand Theft Auto IV; however, their exchange is not accessible in the game.
In Grand Theft Auto V, they take on a much larger role, with a functional website that the player can browse and purchase stocks from. They are one of two interactive stock exchanges available in Grand Theft Auto V, the other being Liberty City National Exchange (LCN).
Influence[]
It is a parody of the real-life Nasdaq stock exchange, located at 4 Times Square in New York City, which the Bawsaq Building is modeled after.

- BAWSAQ is a play on "ballsack", which is a slang term for the scrotum.
- Additionally, the Scottish slang version of the word "ball" is "baw", which adds another layer of meaning to the name of the stock exchange and reflects the series' Scottish background.
