Semple joined Rockstar North in 2001 as the studio manager.
He was initially credited as studio manager on Grand Theft Auto III, before being promoted to studio director in 2002. In this role, he has so far been credited on Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, Grand Theft Auto IV, The Lost and Damned, The Ballad of Gay Tony and Grand Theft Auto V.
He has additionally been credited on Rockstar's Manhunt, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption II.
