CAS on Friday #280 - Dies Only

It's "dies only" at the latest CAS on Friday Challenge #280.  I've been trying to use stuff I either haven't ever used or at least haven't used in a long time.  That's where the Elizabeth Crafts 5 Part Pine tree dies come into play.

I used a white glitter cardstock to cut that out then used my Copic airbrush to try to ombre color the layers.  It's so sparkly and pretty in real life.

I added Concord & 9th Christmas tree decorations from the Christmas Cloche dies set and impressed the card base with the Lawn Fawn Snow Flurries Backdrop to finish off the card.

I've listed the products used below.  In some cases, affiliate links are included. If you use these links to shop I may earn a small commission at NO cost to you.

I admit it.  I have a just a tiny little thing for glitter.  I used a lot of it for a set of cards over on the Birch Press Design blog today.

Journal 1: Beauty Goes Deep

I saw that the prompt over at Simon Says Monday Challenge was Mixed Media and guess who had been thinking about her journal recently?  This girl!

I had a foiled alcohol ink Yupo panel I had made when crafting with some IG friends already on hand.  It reminded me of seaweed so I fussy cut that out and adhered it to my page. Next I airbrushed coral, and later the grit paste after it had dried-ish. The crab is cut from a leftover piece from an alcohol inked panel.

You can see how the rest was put together with the watercolored image, additional diecut pieces, and embossed sentiment.

I'm also entering this in Allsorts #627 Magical Worlds.

Whimsy - Dolly

Are you afraid of dolls? They freak me out--it's those creepy eyes.  Plus various horror movies where the dolls are on the evil side. Shiver.

Here I'm using the latest Whimsy release set Dead Dolly. She's creepy cute.

I used the Forest Majesty Dies to create a mask and then airbrushed trees in the background.  I then colored up the Dead Dolly image to match.

To complete the scene, I used a Friend Die and a sentiment from Dead Dolly. See--not too scary at all!

Whimsy - Oopsie

I'm dreaming of being on a beach right now with no one around me but I KNOW this would happen anyway.  LOL!

I used the Whimsy Wavy Pierced Rectangles Dies to create a stencil for the waves in the background. I sponged it with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers.

The clouds and island are Whimsy Build an Island Dies.  I used my Copic airbrush to color in the sand. I spoonged the palm trees with Distress Oxide Mowed Lawn.

I colored up the Hippo Fun in Sun set with Copics.  This image cracks me up.  It's just too too cute!

Looking for something to pass the time? Why don't you take a gander at the other goodies in the Whimsy shop.

Whimsy - Human Birthday

Time for the Whimsy Stamps April release--no foolin', human! I'm pairing the new Over the Moon set with the Moon Background. So fun!

I started the card by using a variety of Distress Oxides on the background and spattering it with Copic Opaque White.  I accidentally swiped one of the still-drying spots and discovered shooting stars and galaxies!

I then created a slider channel.  Next up I colored up the Over the Moon image and Moon Background using Copics.

Lastly I stamped and embossed the sentiment and assembled the slider mechanism. My nephew is going to love this!
