This article is about the spell. For the plant, see witchweed.
Witchweed was an uncommon[2] evocation spell of the southern magic tradition.[1][note 1]
Effects[]
The spell created an anti-magic cloud of smoke with a radius of 40 feet (12 meters). Any wizard within the cloud was unable to cast spells. The cloud also inflicted damage. The cloud did not move; only a gust of wind spell was able to move the cloud.[1][2]
Components[]
In addition to verbal and somatic components, this spell required a material component, tobacco, which was burned during casting.[1][2]

Notes[]
- ↑ Spells of the southern magic tradition were created in the Old Empires region and written down with the help of Thoth mage-script, a secret magic language, and thus only usable by the initiated.
