The Red Mage is a job in Final Fantasy Dimensions obtained at the start of the story, and is available to both groups of warriors.
Appearance[]
In the mobile phone version, Red Mages wear red clothes, red capes, and a red hat with a feather, just like in the other Final Fantasy games.
Since the iOS version, all Red Mages wear a red hat with white feather and each character has a cape in a different color, with Sol only looking like a traditional Red Mage as he is wearing a red cape. Aigis wears a green cape, Alba wears black, Diana wears light blue, Dusk wears white, Glaive wears purple, Nacht wears blue, and Sarah wears orange. Elgo, a temporarily playable character, distinctively wears a brown hat with a white feather and a brown cape.
Overview[]
Red Mages are jack-of-all-trades; they have average statistics across the board, excelling in no particular area. They lag behind the physical Jobs, they have lower Intelligence and Mind than their dedicated counterparts, with even the Summoner boasting higher magical stats in comparison. What the Red Mage epitomizes however is versatility. In the early-game, the difference in their healing potency and magical damage is small enough to make little difference between them and their counterparts. And even by endgame, random encounters can be easily shut down by the large number of status effects they can inflict quickly, because their speed is notably higher than any other casting Job, and they can eventually learn Doublecast. The large equipment draw they possess also allows one to build their Red Mage depending on their skill set; rods and staves for magical boosts, or swords, bows, and knives for a physical approach using Magic Blade. This applies equally to defensive equipment, as they can equip lightweight vests and hats or mage robes and pointed hats, depending on what you want them to focus on statistically. This is especially true of the Warriors of Darkness, who can acquire an Elven Bangle from Skull Eater in the Ranger Chapter, boosting their Intelligence and Mind by 7 points each at a very early part of the game. Contrast with the Warriors of Light, whose comparable item and game location would be the Sleep Blade with an Intelligence boost of +2. They provide little in terms of Fusion Abilities on their own as they level up, the exception being Piercing Blast, but do make good use of Fusion Abilities from other sources, namely Grand Delta and Deep Freeze. These help compensate for their lack of tier-3 offensive magic. Unique to Sol, Sarah and Aigis, a Memorist with mastery of the Red Mage who has taken no Job Levels elsewhere, can leverage almost the full library of White and Black Magic, Magic Blade, and Summon Magic, through Memorandum, with Doublecast, 100% of the time and have stats equivalent to Seer and Magus courtesy of Recollect, although the specialized mages have the advantage of being able to equip Magic Font to increase their powers even further.

Fusion Abilities[]

Behind the scenes[]
Within the game's data, Red Magic Lv5, Red Magic Lv6, Red Magic Lv7, and Red Magic Lv8 abilities exist. Each magic level allows white and black magic to be used under the Red Magic battle command. Red Magic Lv5 through 8 is accessed by using Red Magic via the Memorandum ability. The standard restrictions on Level 8 Magic apply as normal.
