Guards sworn to protect the coal mines of Narshe. Watch out for the occasional Critical attack.
Bestiary entry (PS)
The Guard is an enemy in Final Fantasy VI. They usually represent the security forces of Narshe and are fought repeatedly during the game's opening moments. They fight alongside trained animal companions. Two of them attack the party if the player answers to side with the Returners to an old woman in Vector. After the occupation of South Figaro, they side with the Returners and follow them to the ruins of the imperial capital after the Battle of Vector.
Their special attack, Critical, does slightly more damage than their normal attack. Bio Blast takes them out in groups, but any Magitek attack works well. With Healing Force any damage they inflict is easily restored.
