The Flare Gigas is an enemy exclusive to the Dawn of Souls and 20th Anniversary releases of Final Fantasy. The Flare Gigas is one of the rarest enemies in the Dawn of Souls version, as it can only be found in the deepest levels of Whisperwind Cove (B31-39) on maps resembling Mount Gulg; only two such maps appear in the randomly generated Cove and are not guaranteed to appear on the final floors, and those maps are almost completely covered in damage floors that prevent random encounters. In the Anniversary version, bestiary completionists may have an easier time seeking it out in the Labyrinth of Time instead.
