An event (イベ��ト, Ibento?) is an activity in Dissidia Final Fantasy Opera Omnia, marked by the opening of a special dungeon or number of quests that can be found on the Event panel or in the World of Illusions over a pre-announced period of time. Events are free and do not require players to spend accumulated Gems upon entry.

Overview[]

There are four principal types of events, depending on where they are located:

• Events - Events located here do not cost stamina.
  • Character events - Quest-based event. These events are side-chapters of the main story, and they feature one character that cannot be obtained in the main scenario. By finishing these quests players not only obtain this new character for their roster, they also get the character's 5★ 15CP weapon and two of their 5★ 35CP armor. This format was retired beginning with Rubicante's event and is hence not used in current content.
  • Challenge Quests - Starting with the introduction of LD and BT weapons, players can attempt the CHAOS quest of an active event when the original CHAOS quest for the event is complete. Support units are disallowed, but the rewards for a Perfect Clear include highly valuable Burst Tokens for token exchanges. These were retired with the debut of the Force mechanics, but new "no friends" missions that replaced them have the same effect.
  • Cycle quests - Quest-based event. The player obtains experience, gil, and crystals for Crystal Strength at an increased rate by completing the battles.
  • Heretic Quests - Hybrid solo/co-op quests that match featured units against heavily-modified bosses, first as individuals, then as a gauntlet in order to obtain exchange tokens and other rare loot. Players must score a Perfect Clear on up to three solo quests per difficulty level using only the featured characters before moving to co-op play and open quests on each difficulty. Issued in packs of three, each with predetermined difficulty.
  • Mission Dungeons - Solo quests in which players create parties of specific elements (Crystal Strength, weapon type, etc) to advance through an event field map. Perfect Clear status may be needed to advance to high-difficulty missions within the same field.
  • Co-op quests - Quest-based event. Various players team up with one of their best units to beat powerful bosses and obtain different rewards.
  • Raids - Players from around the community team up to deal collective damage to a pre-selected boss at progressive difficulty levels to obtain cumulative points and rewards.
  • Token Challenges - Players engage in any of several co-op only quests to amass exchange tokens for rare or exclusive items in an accompanying shop. These events may appear with regular content updates and selected concurrent event quests.
  • Boss Rush Quests - Solo quests in which players may use up to five different parties, each with unique compositions and five different summons to battle preset waves of bosses and other difficult enemies in succession. Each party has a set number of turns to complete as many waves as they are able. Players may switch parties at any time, but cannot return to a previous party and its set summon.
  • Single Challenge - Players can take on a predetermined series of battles in solo mode, earning points toward Draw Tickets and other rewards. Featured parties earn more points by increasing the event's multiplier per featured character used. Choice of difficulty levels, with higher levels earning more points.
• World of Illusions - Events cost stamina.
  • Carbuncle's Treasures - A semi-regular series of quests offering double the usual item and material drop rates. Opens frequently with festivals and major updates to in-game content.
  • Radiant Artifact Tokens - Dungeon event. Players may acquire various enhancement materials as well as exchange tokens for 4★-5★ artifacts for all available characters.
  • Summon dungeons - Dungeon event. The player explores the map so they can obtain special items and materials to level up their summons. Choice of three difficulties for each of 10 summons with regular updates (excludes Chocobo, Sylph, and Mog).
• Lost Chapters - Character events that have ended their initial run are made permanently available after some time. Each event is available after completing a certain storyline chapter, and recruiting these characters is a requirement for unlocking future storyline chapters.
• Intersecting Wills - Selected characters participate in original storylines that chronicle new adventures from the featured character's viewpoint. Unlike Lost Chapters, battles within these stories must have the featured character in the active party to participate.

These quests allow players to acquire materials to enhance summons. After being available for a limited time, the events are gradually made permanently available.
