Angelo is a one-of-a-kind Triple Triad card in Final Fantasy VIII used to play the minigame and for turning into items with Quezacotl's Card Mod. Angelo is the seventy-ninth card in the inventory and the second Level 8 card. It depicts Rinoa Heartilly's dog, Angelo, who appears in her Combine Limit Breaks. Even if Angelo is not a Guardian Force, her card is listed as such. Even if the player renamed Angelo, the card is always called "Angelo" regardless.
Angelo has middling values for a Level 8 card, with only one high value. Its value placements may be useful for games that use Same and/or Plus.
Obtain[]
Watts of the Forest Owls holds the card. There are two chances to play him: during the Timber train hi-jacking mission in the Forest Owls' Base where he plays with Timber region rules, and much later on aboard the White SeeD Ship. If the player does not win the Angelo card off him in either of those two times, the card is missed unless they completed the Card Club quest before fighting the boss on top of the Lunatic Pandora that is the point of no return, and the player finds the club members onboard the Ragnarok in the endgame. The club members will play Angelo in their hand even if the player lost or modified the card.
Card Mod[]
The Angelo card refines into 100 Elixirs with Quezacotl's Card Mod ability. This is a very beneficial outcome as Elixirs are useful in battle and needed for the PuPu quest, and modifying the Angelo card essentially gives the party an inexhaustible supply of them. However, late game they are also available from a Johnny's Shop in Esthar City with Familiar learned.
