Aetheric Burst is a PvP-exclusive additional action from Final Fantasy XIV that deals damage to all nearby enemies, and lengthens cast and recast times of weaponskills and spells.
Use[]
Aetheric Burst deals damage to all nearby enemies and inflicts the 
Aetheric Burst status for 10s, increasing the cast and recast times of weaponskills and spells by 20%. It is a powerful area of effect (AoE) attack, and a well-placed Burst can provide valuable team support by lowering the damage and healing output of the opposing team. However, Aetheric Burst requires the user to move into the middle of the action within melee range of opponents.
Aetheric Burst is an instant cast off-global cooldown (oGCD) ability. This allows players to weave it between global cooldowns (GCD) after using instant cast weaponskills or spells.
Players can only set two additional actions at any given time, so they must choose actions which complement their combat strategy. Aetheric Burst must compete with 
Drain, 
Addle, 
Swiftcast, and 
Manaward for an available slot. As an offensive ability it can pair well with Drain, while its slowing effect can pair well with the more defensive Addle or Manaward.
