Haploryhmä U (mtDNA) on Euroopan toiseksi yleisin äitilinjan haploryhmän tyyppi. Tyyppi on vanha ja laajalti levinnyt myös läntisessä, keskisessä ja eteläisessä Aasiassa. Äitilinjan haploryhmä U on kehittynyt ryhmästä R. Haploryhmä U jaetaan alaluokkiin U1, U2, U3, U4, U5, U6, U7, U8 ja U9.
Alkuperä
[muokkaa | muokkaa wikitekstiä]Mitokondrio-DNA:n U-haploryhmän kantaäiti eli noin 55 000 vuotta sitten. U-haploryhmä on kehittynyt MtDNA:n haploryhmästä R.
