The name is GlassesJakob. My given name is Dallin, but for a while I went by Rocky on this site because it's a simpler name than Dallin. I used to be a user named SuperDuperMarioKirby (SDMK) and later Dragon of Steel, and then Salutationary. If you happen upon any cringeworthy material put out by either of the first two usernames, please take it with a grain of salt and understand that that isn't who I am anymore. I've grown and changed and matured since I first joined this site.
I am a straight, cisgender male. I'm a few semesters into college. I’m a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. If you believe differently than I do, that’s okay. You’re still a rad human being and I’d still like to be your friend.

Paper Luigi: The Watch of Eternity[]
My pride and joy! The second game I got Sysop Approved! This is my passion project to revitalize the Paper Mario franchise. The game stars Luigi and is built around time travel, so it's got two gimmicks and I'm here for it.
Honestly, I love the work that I've done on this so far. The story has been a joy to write, these original characters are a lot of fun to develop, and I've always just been a sucker for time travel in general. Plus, Luigi as a character (especially the Paper Mario incarnation of Luigi) has been fun to dive into.

Brutal Favoritism[]
My big umbrella fighting game! I'm planning on doing a big overhaul at some point on both the story and roster, and probably the overall gameplay as well. Still, there's a lot of history with this one, and I'm hoping to finish it before my fantendo tenure is up.
The old story for this game can be found here. Since I've revamped the overall roster, this story as it stands is pretty long gone. But I'm really really really proud of what I wrote, so I'm preserving the old story.
Banquet Favoritism[]
A Mario Party-esque sequel to Brutal. It's a fun, cheeky li'l passion project given how much love and nostalgia I have for the Mario Party games. We'll see what happens with it.
Mariomon Red and Green Versions[]
My other pride and joy, and the first game I got Sysop Approved! This one was a ton of fun. I'm gonna want to touch it up, like probably improve the story in some areas and actually flesh out the details in the MarioDex.
Mario Kart: Double Dash!! HD[]
A hi-def remaster of my favorite Mario Kart game.
Super Paper Mario: Heroes of Light[]
The longest title I've ever given a game on this site, and one I'm very hopeful to actually flesh out someday. I love Super, but there are just too many gameplay and overall atmosphere issues that I'd like to take a crack at fixing.

Making this list was fascinating. I didn't realize how much I generally prefer the newer pokemon to the older ones.
Favorite first-form starter is Mudkip and favorite final-form starter is Cinderace.
Video Game Consoles[]
The Switch is probably the easy number one. It’s just so good. It’s not perfect, the hardware could be better and performance is lacking with some games. But the game library is perfect for me, and the joycons are perfect controllers.
The GameCube is what I grew up with. It’s such a banger. Go show my cubey boy some love.
The 3DS is what turned boys into men. I wouldn’t be surprised if the 3D effect is the direct cause of why I’ve needed to wear glasses most of my life. It’s a solid console.
My brother acquired a PS5 and Xbox Series X while I was on my mission. I’ve played around with them a little but not enough to have a fully fledged opinion. They’re cool, I see the appeal. The load times are ridiculously quick.
Favorite Games[]
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door takes the cake. It’s part nostalgia and part amazement. It holds up so well, even twenty years later.
Celeste is one of the most jaw-dropping games. Madeline is a dope protagonist, the villain is literally her self-doubt manifested into a sleep paralysis demon, the platforming is some of the tightest I’ve ever done, the strawberries are sick to collect, and the overall mental health awareness it presents is fantastic. Go play it.
Animal Crossing is one of the legendary series. While I adore New Horizons and have a lot of nostalgia for City Folk, New Leaf is probably one of the greatest games I’ve ever lived in.
I didn’t play Super Mario Galaxy much as a kid, but I’ve been playing through it again lately on 3D All-Stars and I’m absolutely loving it. It’s been optimized so well for the switch.
Go play Hades. The strategy inherent and addictive combat is fantastic. One of the best indie games of our generation.
Pokémon Emerald is becoming one of my very favorites, up there with XY and ORAS. And I’ve got a lot of love for Scarlet, that gets way less love than it deserves. But Legends Arceus is better than all of those by a mile.
Battleblock Theater is a work of art.
The Lego games are fantastic. In order from most favorite to least favorite (but still very good): Star Wars Complete Saga, DC Super-Villains, Skywalker Saga, Hobbit, Incredibles.
Mario Party Superstars is a fantastic love letter to the overall Mario party series. The graphics are on point, most of the minigames are the best from the series, the boards are clever and remastered beautifully, you can play as Donkey Kong again.
I'm starting to do new playthroughs of the classic Pokémon games. I'm gonna keep track of the teams I use here. Have fun or something.
