LEGO Spider-Man: The Video Game is a 3D action video game in the LEGO series, directed by NeoNio99 (t∣b∣c) and will release on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows 11, Nintendo Switch Ultimate, all Xbox platforms from the Xbox One onwards, Amazon Luna, and Steam.
In the vein of the series' adaptations of franchises like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and Harry Potter, LEGO Spider-Man adapts the stories of multiple Spider-Man films spanning two decades' worth of history - specifically, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy, the Amazing Spider-Man films, the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Homecoming trilogy, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Venom, and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, with the Venom films being combined as one story in order to balance content and action in levels with the other films.
Gameplay[]
Gameplay of LEGO Spider-Man takes a lot of cues from the Spider-Man PS4/PS5 video game series and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. While playing through a level in Story Mode, the player will be able to take control of Spider-Man, along with other characters depending on the situation, and explore the environment around them to accomplish the level's primary tasks. Side missions are also available for the player to complete, and after finishing the main tasks in the level, they have the option to either continue to explore the level's environment to clear side missions.
When the game is launched for the first time, the player will begin in the game's hub world, consisting of the Sanctum Sanctorum as well as an open-world New York City surrounding it. In the Sanctum Sanctorum, there are ten frames for portals, representing the following movies (with the heads of their respective villains on posters above the portals):
- Spider-Man (2002) - Green Goblin
- Spider-Man 2 - Doctor Octopus
- Spider-Man 3 - Venom (Raimiverse)
- The Amazing Spider-Man - Lizard
- The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - Electro
- Spider-Man: Homecoming - Vulture
- Spider-Man: Far From Home - Mysterio
- Spider-Man: No Way Home - Green Goblin (NWH appearance)
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse - Kingpin
- Venom 1+2 (Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage) - Carnage
Spider-Man 2002, The Amazing Spider-Man, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Venom 1+2 are available from the start, with the other five movies needing to be unlocked by progressing through the stories of their respective universes. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse - Part One and Part Two are currently planned as DLC stories and will be available after the release of each part.
The game's playable roster consists not only of characters from all the movies, but also related MCU characters in the case of the Homecoming trilogy and a wide variety of miscellaneous characters pulled from the Spider-Man franchise's long history in comics, television, etc.

Development History and Trivia[]
- The game's concept was conceived a couple weeks before the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, due to the hype surrounding the concept of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's portrayals of Peter Parker/Spider-Man crossing over with Tom Holland's to fight the revealed villains coming from their universes. After NeoNio99 (t∣b∣c) saw the movie and witnessed the three Spider-Men uniting at the end, he began to flesh out the concept further, with Into the Spider-Verse and the Venom films being included alongside the Raimi trilogy, the TASM films, and the MCU trilogy to expand the game's potential roster even further. The concept was initially kept on a Google Doc before Nio eventually decided to share it on Fantendo.
- Morbius was considered as a DLC story alongside Across the Spider-Verse, but was scrapped due to Nio coming out of the movie with no attachment to any of its characters whatsoever. However, a more comic accurate Morbius will be included as a playable character.
- Ash Williams (Evil Dead), Peter Venkman (Ghostbusters), and Darth Vader (Star Wars) were chosen as guest characters for the game for the following reasons:
- Ash as a reference to Sam Raimi having created and directed the Evil Dead movies and Army of Darkness before directing his Spider-Man trilogy;
- Peter Venkman as a nod to Sony Pictures, the current owners of Columbia Pictures and the distribution rights for Spider-Man films, as well as the Ghostbusters franchise;
- and Darth Vader as a tribute to the Star Wars franchise's close history with Marvel Comics and a nod to Disney owning the franchise alongside the distribution rights for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Logos[]
On the game's title screen, the logo will glitch between its default version and six different variants, in a manner similar to the glitches seen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
