Baron Wolfgang von Strucker served in the Nazi military during World War II, where he was the archenemy to Nick Fury and his fireteam called the Howling Commandos. However, his numerous failures against the team resulted in Strucker being marked for death by Adolf Hitler. Escaping to Japan with help from the Red Skull, Strucker set about constructing an organization with help from the local Hand ninja cult and the enigmatic Thule Society. The end result was Hydra, an terrorist organization that would come to menace the world for years with Strucker at the helm, kept alive through super science.
