Zekua Melon (ゼクア・メロン Zekua Meron) was a former Mage and adventure novelist under the pen name Kemu Zaleon (ケム・ザレオン Kemu Zareon). He was also the father of Kaby Melon.

Appearance[]

Zekua, being aged, has a wrinkly face. He is a tall, fairly-skinned, well-endowed man. He has a gray hair tied into a ponytail, with long fringes of hair framing his face. He wears a long-sleeved white collared shirt, that is left unbuttoned, layering it with a maroon vest that is also unbuttoned. He also wears dark blue pants and doesn't seem to be wearing any kind of foot apparel.[1]

Personality[]

Zekua is a self-sacrificing person, going as far as crushing his own pride and being locked in a cell just for the sake and safety of his family.[2] Despite this trait, however, Zekua still respects his pride as a writer, as he even cut off his own arm just so he couldn't be able to write anymore after everything Everlue put him through.[3] Nevertheless, even after his own death, it's proven that Zekua loves his son in spite of the unconcern at the first glance, being revealed that the book he wrote for the corrupt politician is actually dedicated to his son through the use of his Magic.[4]

History[]

Zekua Melon was a former guild Mage and then an adventure novelist at the same time during his youth, he had written several books based on the many adventures he had,[5] whose works had been considered as a cultural heritage.[6]

Zekua writing DAYBREAK

Thirty-four years ago, Everlue threatened to withdraw the citizenship of Zekua Melon and his family if he refused to write a book with the former as the main character. Seeing no way out, Zekua agreed but Everlue was angry for his initial refusal and locked him in a solitary cellar, crushing his pride as a writer. For three years, Zekua fought with his pride in order to save his family and used his last remaining power to cast his Magic on the book he entitled DAYBREAK.[7]

After three years, he returned home to find his son, Kaby. He decided to never write a book again, cutting off his own arm as a result. At the hospital, Kaby confronted him for writing the book and for leaving his family. Shortly after that, Zekua committed suicide, leaving his angry son.[8]
