NERV Germany (ネルフ?) is an organization that appears in the novel Neon Genesis Evangelion: ANIMA.
Profile[]
It is an organization that was separated from the NERV into a smaller branch and mainly funded by the Germany government and other countries. [1]
History[]
Volume 1[]
The organization was first mentioned as they asked Hikari to work with them during a vacation in Australia. Hikari was surprised by the offer, but NERV Japan had given their consent for a short-term contract. Hikari was curious to see where Asuka had been raised. After accepting and going there she thought that everyone was nice. NERV Germany would provide a guide and luxury car even when it wasn't work-related. During the events of Longinus Curtain, their bodyguards protected Hikari as they turned into salt.[2]
Volume 2[]
Upon the first appearance of Heurtebise upon Hokkaido, Shinji notices that Heurtebise has two Q.R. Signums in the shoulder pylons. Hikari says that NERV Germany has developed the technology to bring Armaros' quantum resonance plates under their control.[3]
A coalition of Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Spain and other European countries forces under the United Nations banner invaded Japan as part of the United Nations rapid response force authorized by UN Resolution 508 regarding the deployment of Evangelions. They affirm that due to the European continent suffered tremendous losses because of NERV Japan’s negligence. They affirm that NERV Japan is currently engaged in efforts to seize power for themselves, on their way to become a violent organization no longer in accordance with the ideals set out in the UN Charter. The UN has deemed NERV Japan unfit to operate the Evangelions, which ultimately are UN property. The UN has ordered the reclamation of NERV Japan’s equipment and facilities. This deployment of UN military forces is nothing more than an internal reorganization within the UN structure. The message stated to not be alarmed by their presence. The purpose of this mission is to restore NERV Japan to a properly functioning organization within the UN and will cause no harm or impediment to the Japanese nation or its citizens. This message was transmitted across every transmission frequency and twenty-four-hour news site.
Misato suspected that the Japanese government was tacitly permitting the passage of European forces and decided that they were to fight the invading forces.[4]
NERV Germany management felt that Unit-02 had been unfairly unfairly taken from them by NERV Japan, so they created a subterfuge to advance their standing by using the United Nations to order NERV Japan to investigate the surface of the Moon, leaving the base without the most reliable Evangelion unit to defend it as it proceeded with the mission far away, alongside it, the public perception after the Longinus Curtain event was also manipulated to further their agenda.
