[edit]From Proto-Albanian *pitšā, suggested to be from Proto-Indo-European *píts-ih₂ ~ *pits-yéh₂, from *pī́ts (“resin”) + *-ih₂, cognate with Ancient Greek πίσσα (píssa, “pitch, resin”).[1][2][3]
