  1. In Finland, a flat rate pension[1], to which people who are covered by the Finnish social security system are entitled, usually translated as "national pension" into English. The pension can be paid on the basis of old age, disability or long-term unemployment. Other income, such as earnings-related työeläke (work pension) diminishes the national pension.
