Oud-Dijk

First attested as lant in waverloe in 1325. Derived from oud (“old”) and dijk (“levee”). Initially called Waverlo. From the 15th century onwards the name Dijk began to be applied to the settlement as a reference to its location next to a levee around the Waverlobos.
