[edit]

Recorded as Aporcrosan c. 1080.

[edit]

Applecross

  1. A small coastal village in a remote part of Wester Ross, Highland council area, Scotland (OS grid ref NG7144).
  2. A suburb of Perth, in the City of Melville, Western Australia, named after the Scottish locality.

Usage notes

[edit]

Wikipedia only gives this name to the peninsula in Scotland the village is located on. On OS Landranger map 24 (Raasay & Applecross) the peninsula is unnamed, and only the village, Applecross Bay, the River Applecross and Applecross Forest bear this name. It was also described as a village in the AA Book of British Villages published in 1980.
