[edit]Inherited from Middle Gujarati ईधन (īdhana), from Prakrit 𑀇𑀁𑀥𑀡 (iṃdhaṇa), from Sanskrit इन्धन (indhana, “lighting, kindling, fuel”). Doublet of ઇંધન (indhan). Cognate with Hindustani اِینْدَھن (īndhan) / ईंधन (īndhan) and Marwari ईंधण (īndhaṇ).
