Inherited from Proto-Mansi *tü̆kəs, cognates include Northern Mansi [script needed] (teksi), Eastern Mansi тяхвс (tâhvs), Western Mansi тэ́ксъ (tè́ksʺ), Southern Mansi [script needed] (tüks),[1] which is from Proto-Finno-Ugric *sükśe (autumn), cognates include Hungarian ősz.[2]
