What, Where, When, and How?
[edit]- What - We will collaboratively edit in celebration of Wikipedia Loves Libraries. The topic that was proposed to the Chicago Public Library who will be publicizing the event on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook was Barack Obama: The Chicago Years. This topic would include primary articles Early life and career of Barack Obama, Illinois Senate career of Barack Obama and United States Senate career of Barack Obama. Secondary articles will be Barack Obama presidential campaign, 2008, 2004 Democratic National Convention keynote address, United States Senate election in Illinois, 2004, Illinois Senate elections of Barack Obama and Barack Obama presidential primary campaign, 2008. For those not interested in politics maybe articles such as Hyde Park-Kenwood Historic District, Kenwood District and Kenwood, Chicago would be good topics. Wikipedians are all volunteers and of course are free to edit topics other than the approved topic such as Chicago Architecture, Chicago Theater. Many of these articles have potential to be WP:GAs and as a group we can help them get closer to that level. Note that the library will not be publicizing this at their website because it is not an official library event. It is a wikipedia event held at the library.
- Where - Chicago Public Library's Harold Washington Library Center, 6th floor, North Study Room D
- When - October 29, 2011 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
