The result was delete. After discounting the opinion by LaundryPizza03 which makes no sense, and that by WStrBinA which makes no argument, the strength of argument favors deletion. The "delete" side provides arguments in terms of applicable Wikipedia policies and guidelines, whereas the one remaining "keep" argument amounts to WP:USEFUL, which is a weak argument. As it stands this is an invalid disambiguation page because all the entries are WP:Partial title matches: none of them are known solely as "Thermic". Whilst Thermics redirects to Thermodynamics, there is no mention of "Thermic" in that article. A page of WP:PTMs is harmful because it obscures Search and makes it more difficult to find pages that aren't listed. The page has a history, but my opinion is that we're better off deleting it to facilitate uninhibited Search. I don't believe there's a suitable redirect target. • Comment. There does seem to be some scope for disambiguation here. In instances in Sierra de Almijara it refers to warm climate, in ustic and vertisol it refers to warm soil, but in thermic siphon and Thermic fluid heater it refers to the transfer of heat from one place to another (?) and in negative-calorie food it refers to the effect of food on body heat. In all of these cases it is "thermic", rather than the "X-thermic" of all the entries on the dab. But I'm not sure there are suitable link targets for any of these. Maybe we could instead consider a soft redirect to wikt:thermic? —David Eppstein (talk) 01:36, 28 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
• Move back to Thermic reaction without leaving a redirect or delete. I agree with the nom that the dab page in its current state is inadequate, there are many more partial title matches not readily accessible to users due to its existence. I considered retargeting to thermodynamics (as the adjective form of thermics, akin to thermodynamic) or heat transfer or most encompassing, heat, but these articles don't use the term and in the spirt of WP:NOTDIC it would be best to lead users to search results and a link to the Wiktionary entry. Thermics should continue to redirect to thermodynamics. All that said, the dab page was for 3 years at Thermic reaction, which now redirects there. I don't think we should delete Thermic reaction along with this, and in fact, a reworked version of Thermic would be an appropriate set index at that title. However, a normal move does not address the above concerns regarding the current title. So either suppress-move to the previous title to preserve page history (a bit WP:IAR, since it doesn't fit normal suppression criteria), or setindexify over the redirect at Thermic reaction prior to deletion of Thermic.
