Sabbathbloodness, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Sabbathbloodness! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
January 2013
[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to The Wizard (Black Sabbath song), without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Thank you. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:58, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to blank out or remove portions of page content, templates or other materials from Wikipedia, as you did at Planet Caravan, you may be blocked from editing. Thank you. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 08:59, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
This is your last warning. The next time you remove or blank page content or templates from Wikipedia, as you did at War Pigs, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Hop n hop (on the arctic ice) 09:00, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
Multiple accounts and copyright concerns
[edit]Hi Daniel.
I noticed you returned to editing with a new account. While I am glad that you are so enthusiastic about editing Wikipedia, I think we need to talk about copyright problems that were found with your previous accounts.
This is really important: if we are sloppy with copyright it endangers the whole project and can create problems for Wikipedia's re-users, and cleaning it up creates a huge amount of work for other volunteers. While I'd like to see you continue contributing, we need to make sure first that you understand the copyright concerns raised during the last months, and that you know how to avoid them in the future.
So this is your chance. You were approached a number of times on your old talk pages (User talk:Rubalieta, User talk:Uriahdan) about copyright concerns. You ignored all editors coming to your talk page, and this apparent unwillingness to discuss eventually got you blocked. If you ignore me now, we will have to continue this game of cat and mouse, I will block this account and prevent you from editing anonymously, and we will start deleting/reverting all your edits in order to protect this project -- a lot of wasted time for everyone involved.
So please don't ignore me now, and talk to me. Are you willing to have a discussion?
Amalthea 12:34, 4 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hello!
- Friend I understand you well if that's the problem I promise I would not download any copyrighted image or something like that but please help me to understand how to download covers or the songs if all covers are copyrighted for wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sabbathbloodness (talk • contribs) 10:39, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Sure, I can help you there. Within limits this is very easy to do.
However, there are a few points I'd like to talk about first, my main concerns that I really need you to understand and take to heart, to make sure your editing goes smoothly from now on. You probably more or less know all that by now anyway:- Communication
When someone comes to you talk page with a concern, question, or warning, make sure to write a reply, preferably right beneath the concern/question/warning.
I believe what got us to this point is that you never ever talk to people. With the two accounts I mentioned above you only once made an edit to a user talk page, and that was to place a barnstar. If you had aver replied to one of the concerns I'm sure the problems would have been resolved very quickly. We all want to build one big, free encyclopedia here; when someone comes to your talk page with a question, concern, even a warning, they still share your goal in making this encyclopedia better, so please talk with them -- at least acknowledge that you've read the message. In a community project, this really is the only way. - Copyright
Of course, the big concern with some of your edits has always been copyright. You know now that we mustn't simply upload images found on the internet.
Just as important however is that we mustn't simply copy text found elsewhere. For example, in [1] you added text that was written Frank Albrecht for Rock Hard (magazine). The author or the publisher likely owns copyright, and we can't just use that text. You may use the information in it, but then write it in your own words -- and not just replace a few words, really write it from scratch.
Copyright is a very complex issue, and many editors make mistakes there at first; but it's also very important and all editors must do their best to respect it. One simple guideline is: whenever you use copy/paste to add text to Wikipedia, you are in danger of violating copyright. That's true even if the text you are copying comes from Wikipedia.
Here are some of the guideline/policy pages: WP:COPYPASTE, WP:PARAPHRASE, WP:COPYWITHIN. You don't need to read them all top to bottom, but please have a look at them to get a quick understanding. - Multiple accounts
Lastly, if your account ever does get blocked again, please don't simply create another account. This will always only make the situation more difficult to resolve. Instead, try to figure out what prompted the block, and discuss. In particular, you can always approach me; I'll probably watch this talk page for a while.
- Communication
- Lots of text, sorry for that, I hope I could make myself understood (I notice that English isn't the first language for either of us). Again, please understand that I'm not trying to make your wiki-life harder; to the contrary, I'm trying to make it easier, and facilitate your editing with as few problems as possible.
What do you think?
Kind regards, Amalthea 15:13, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- Sure, I can help you there. Within limits this is very easy to do.
I am very thankful to you that you can help me if something happens. Can I send you links of the photos which I found on internet and will you help me solve the problem? with uploading it?. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sabbathbloodness (talk • contribs) 15:26, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- OK, give me a link and tell me what you want to use it for.
First though, what do you think about what I wrote above? You can't have read it very carefully, for one I said you should preferably reply right beneath, i.e. on this page, not on the other editors talk page.
And what about the rest? Do you see that there was a problem with copying text, and do you know how to avoid it from now on?
Amalthea 15:32, 5 January 2013 (UTC)- Surly I understood what to do know I should write info in my own words and not to copy them from other websites. And not to make accounts when mine is blocked just try to make discussion. Here are the links http://s.discogss.com/image/R-416848-1325790748.jpeg ,http://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_covers/1157/cover_264691122012_r.jpg THANK YOU AGAIN!. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sabbathbloodness (talk • contribs) 16:41, 5 January 2013 (UTC)
- I also need to know where you want to use it, else we can't write the fair use rationale needed to use an unfree image on Wikipedia. I wasn't able to find the articles of the two songs myself.
Also, here are three tips to streamline talk page discussions:- Always place your reply right beneath the text you are replying to. Fragmenting a discussion on two talk pages makes it impossible to follow and isn't really done anymore.
- Remember to end your comment with your signature by typing four tildes: ~~~~
- When you create a new talk page section, place it at the bottom of the page, not at the top. If you use the 'new section' link instead of 'edit', it will automatically do so.
- Cheers, Amalthea 21:56, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Your recent edits
[edit]Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 16:43, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

Hello Dan149,
It seems to me that an article you worked on, Ride the Wild Wind, may be copied from http://www.last.fm/music/Queen/_/Ride+the+Wild+Wind. It's entirely possible that I made a mistake, but I wanted to let you know because Wikipedia is strict about copying from other sites.
It's important that you edit the article and rewrite it in your own words, unless you're absolutely certain nothing in it is copied. If you're not sure how to fix the problem or have any questions, there are people at the help desk who are happy to assist you.
Thank you for helping build a free encyclopedia! MadmanBot (talk) 19:16, 10 June 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Ride the Wild wind.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Ride the Wild wind.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:08, 15 June 2013 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Fredthebest.jpg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Fredthebest.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Flat Out let's discuss it 10:40, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use File:Fredthebest.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Fredthebest.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that this media item is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails the first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media item could be found or created that provides substantially the same information or which could be adequately covered with text alone. If you believe this media item is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the file discussion page, write the reason why this media item is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 16:45, 7 July 2013 (UTC)

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Queen (band) may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Disambiguation link notification for January 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Doors discography, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page POL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Speedy deletion nomination of Armenian kings
[edit]A tag has been placed on Armenian kings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Never mind. It seems you just forgot to put this navbox in the template namespace. Sorry for the noise. QVVERTYVS (hm?) 19:22, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
The article Armen Poghosyan (painter) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Wgolf (talk) 03:29, 17 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as En fallit. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 01:01, 4 March 2016 (UTC)

The file File:Lillyofthevalley74.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
This image is of the Japanese single release of "Now I'm Here" (45cat.com), whose B-side track is "Lily of the Valley". Notice the emphasis of A-side and the (de-)emphasis of the B-side by text sizes. Significance of the release not substantial enough in the article to justify using the image. May fail WP:NFCC#8.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
